Burnt Barrel Social - Yorkville — Restaurant in Bristol Township

First, I reviewed this place last year and my review is NOT here anymore..? 🤔 Went here with my wife. Looked around and saw some sour looks. Two people were sitting with their checks and payment waiting for the wait service. One guy finally got up and got someone to let him pay so he could leave. He didn't look happy. Finally we were seated. Sat for about 15 minutes before the waitress showed up. She took our drink order. It was a while before we got our drinks. It took a while to get our food. It wasn't cold but wasn't hot either. The entire time we were there the waitress only walked up once to ask if we needed anything, of course when we had food in our mouths and didn't even wait for an answer or even a reaction. We had been done eating with empty glasses and no refills for some time. The waitress finally came back and asked if we needed anything else. I said we'd have liked more drinks and napkins about 20 minutes ago. She asked if we wanted any at that time. We said we just wanted the check. About 10-15 minutes later we got our check then had to wait for her to come back to pick it up, etc ..it wasn't even that busy. Food was so so...we will not be back. I see some 4 star reviews and even a couple of 5s. I see a bunch of 3 star, 2 star and one star reviews too. As far as the high ratings go, it has to be either people who can't cook and don't know any better or friends of the employees....or maybe the management made a change with personnel. I doubt the latter happened because some of these 1 ztar ratings are recent but who knows....I work hard for my money and when I go to a place like this and get mediocre food and horrible service, I don't go back for a LONG time, sometimes not ever. Sometimes, once an owner lets a crappy culture set in with their employees, it never changes unless they clean house and start...

We won't be coming here again. The two stars are for The service and the alcohol selection. The food was fine - nothing special, nothing awful. Because it was nothing special, I can get it closer to home, in an establishment without a US flag sign reading "masks optional" during a statewide indoor mask mandate. I am a healthcare worker and don't have time for other people's childish politics, nor essentially having a middle finger taped to the door when I arrive. If I want to go somewhere with mediocre food that's not interested in enforcing health policies, I'll go to one of the millions of places with simply NOTHING in the window. Not everything has to be confrontational and petulant. I am sorry this is how you, as adults and professionals, choose to run your business. Healthcare workers and front-line personnel...you may want to find somewhere else to eat. If you just want to just have a normal dinner without knowing someone is cherry-picking the public health policies they enforce and showing open disdain for your profession, this is not the place for you. Some places have food that is good enough to make passice-aggressive "professional" behavior tolerable, but this is not one of those places. Crusade Burger Bar is down the street and doesn't minimize your entire profession or dismiss public health measures at the front door. It also has...

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday and was disappointed. This was my second visit and likely my last. The atmosphere and decor is great... inviting and unique. The food has been average, a grilled cheese is what both in our party most recently ordered. We both agree that there was too much bread for the amount of cheese. I upgraded from fries as a side to soup. The service is seriously lacking and we waited a good 5 minutes just to get water after being seated. The waitress was not super friendly when taking our order. When she dropped our food, she said nothing and walked away. I was served fries instead of the soup I ordered. Several minutes later, when I was able to get her attention, I explained that I ordered soup instead of fries. Her response was "Oh Yah"... and she again walked away. She did bring soup a few minutes later and again walked away. We were never checked on for our entire meal. She brought our check and we asked for a take out box. She again walked away and said nothing, but did bring the box. This is not at all what I consider friendly service. I don't expect a long discussion of any type, but at least speak when approaching and helping a customer would be...
