The notice on the back of the door said the room rents for $250 - $300 a night. The room was very noisy because the motel is sandwiched between two fairly busy streets, and on a third side, close to a main street in town. Take earplugs. While the standard room was fairly large, the bathroom was tiny. I think the wall between the bedroom and bathroom should be moved a foot or two to expand the bathroom to add a walk-in shower. It had a bathtub with a curved shower rod, so the shower curtain would not stay closed at the ends of the curtain, thus allowing water to spray onto the wall and floor no matter how careful I was. No wonder there was so much damage to the wall next to the shower. And although fairly nicely remodeled, the room had unsightly patched holes in the walls, and the plastic strip baseboard molding was peeling away from a few of the walls. Large dust bunnies blew out from under the air-conditioning unit, and there were food crumbs in the corner, under the desk. The weather stripping on the window was peeling loose. It's a good thing I was ready to check out of the Butte, MT, Wingate by Wyndham motel an hour early. I had a bunch of stuff besides my suitcase, like emergency car gear, my cooler, a couple bags of things with snacks and purchases from the trip there, and gifts for relatives. My suitcase, a tote, and a medium-sized box are heavy, so I need a cart, especially since I wasn't on a ground floor, and I have back issues. They had only one cart for that entire motel! I went to the lobby at 10:00. No cart. I waited in the lobby for about 15 minutes while a man checked the floors for the cart (which indicates they have no hall cameras š¬). It was in somebody's room. After waiting a while, I figured I had better start carrying the heavy things down the steps, one at a time, because the stairs were close to my room, and car. The elevator was on the opposite side of the building, and down a long hallway. I went back to my room and my key cards wouldn't work. They must have already checked me out! So, I walked back to the lobby and got a new key. Went back to my room. The front desk called and said the person who had the cart was loading his car. So, I walked back down the stairs to the lobby. Got the cart and brought it up in the elevator , which was good as my hip joints were tired from all the walking up and down stairs and down the long hallway. Got the cart loaded and down the elevator, where another man was waiting for the cart. He watched my loaded cart for me while I walked to my car and pulled it up closer to the lobby. I got my car loaded and checked out about 3 minutes before 11:00 which is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStay somewhere else, do yourself a favor. Bed was clean and was decently comfortable. Room was clean as well. I dont like leaving bad reviews but I am not very impressed with this location so I want to give a detailed explanation as to why and not just blast a one or two star with no back story. I wish it would let me add photos but I can't seem to do so. The paint/seal around the shower was cracking away and gave a very shoddy appearance. it did have good water pressure and was hot, so it functioned just fine as a shower should. But ultimately the bathroom was a toilet and shower stuffed into a tiny closet. The window in my room was broken and falling of the track, so if I opened it for airflow it ran the risk of falling off and into my room, the screen was also bent out of shape and wanting to fall out. All in all it was a sleepable room. The real issues were with the rest of the hotel. The dirty hallways, large cracks in the walls (to the point it had plastic over it and was taped off), staff that seem like they dread being there and generally dont have a good attitude towards customers, thin classic hotel walls so you can hear everything your neighbors are doing. Don't expect to have a traditional hotel breakfast here, its much worse than that. When checking in I did ask if there was any kind of a breakfast and was told by the front desk they had your run of the mill hotel breakfast (which i am fine with, used to that, wasn't expecting a grand buffet) plus breakfast sandwiches and a few other additional non standard items. so at first tell i was impressed... until it came time to get breakfast. The breakfast area is quite small causing a congestion of people with little room to sit. The pancake machine was down during my stay (not the end of the world, stuff breaks, it happens) but the rest of the breakfast was pretty dismal. Bagged eggs and poor quality sausage was pretty much it besides some saran wrapped bagels and bread slices. They advertise breakfast from 6-9... I got there around 745 Tuesday and Wednesday and most of the breakfast was gone, so this morning I got there at 645 and nothing had even been brought out yet, i was told it was being made (advertised as 6am-9am). When it did come out it was only the eggs, nothing else. If you need a clean bed and a place to shower, its got you covered.. but ultimately I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. I feel bad leaving a one star so im leaving two because it did give me the basics of what I needed, a place to sleep. But ultimately I would say stay away from here and seek lodging elsewhere....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis hotel is way over priced. It has a very poor layout. The front entrance is situated so you canāt pull up, check-in, and then park. Once you check in, if you need to use the luggage cart, they have only one, not only is it frustrating getting it through the manual door, but because the sidewalk in front of the hotel is narrow and they have a safety curb in front of the door you have to carefully go up the small ramp area and then tightly turn the cart to get it in the manual door without it falling off the curb. The elevator is located in a very cramped little alcove. Another struggle with the cart. You also have to maneuver through tables chairs for eating to get to this tiny alcove. Upon arrival, on a Wednesday, I was informed the pool was closed until 7PM due to private swimming lessons taking place. I had no plans to use the pool, but if you do, or have children you were hoping to let burn off some energy after traveling, check first before you book! Although my room was nicely cooled upon arrival it was not very clean. It seemed as though the over-worked staff didnāt quite finish. No washcloths, stained bed cover, spotted mirror, and one of the pillows had no pillow case, but it was draped over a chair. The fitted sheet was even completely off of one corner. You can easily hear the guests making conversation, and their movements in the room next door. The shower has a nice curved rod which made the shower roomy. Most of the plumbing fixtures appear to be relatively new and worked well. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. One of the cleaning staff also helped me get the luggage cart back into the lobby when I was leaving. Great staff! No issues there at all. Breakfast is awful, with slim pickings. Those disgusting link sausages and bouncy ball rubber eggs, whole fruit, yogurt, and packaged baked goods, waffles, and assorted beverages. Would have been nice to have some oatmeal as an option instead of the salty, sugary, fare. No in-room coffee maker, however the breakfast room is open 24/7 so coffee, and anything else in there is accessible. Due to the state of the hotel, the condition of the room and poor layout of this tired property, do yourself a favor and stay...
