Bedworks — Hotel in Cambridge

I've been sleeping on a Bedworks "Floating Platform" bed for the past 31 years here in the other Cambridge in the UK. When I started renting this 1890s home (I subsequently was able to buy it off my landlord), it came with a bunch of stuff in it that had been shipped over from The States (my British landlord’s wife was American). I would imagine the bed was purchased from you in the mid-to-late 80s but was over here in the UK no later than 1990. Now my time in this Cambridge is soon going to be over, and I will be moving away (to the UK’s Birmingham) where there are already beds. Your bed base will therefore soon be donated to our local homeless charity that offers furniture collections. So presumably it will get many more years use still! After waiting over a year for a product we fully paid for with nothing to show for it, it's quite clear this store has recently become incapable of delivering the most basic product it sells - a bed. We went and visited them every month to get an update, and each time we were told that our need was not ready, and would not be ready for a while. We got a full refund today. It's clear that this place once provided quality products in a timely manner, but that is no longer the case. Of course, Khat behind the register is very kind, and sympathized with us at every step. But nothing they would say or do made the bed we'd ordered and paid for appear. So, if you like buying beds, have fun buying them from Bedworks. If you want to have a bed, maybe try...

Bed designs that are, in theory, ideal for narrow city dwellings. I say in theory because I have been waiting the better part of a year for a bed ordered and paid for in August 2022. From the start, they said it would take a few months to fulfill, which was entirely understandable given supply-chain issues post Covid. But going on 8 months later when I check in I keep getting unconvincing excuses, e.g., "the owner is just about to place the order" "the owner is just back from vacation" etc. etc. Hate to speak ill of a local business that I would love to continue to support, but consumers should take note.
