730 Tavern, Kitchen & Patio — Restaurant in Cambridge

If you are looking for a solid spot with a vast menu, you have to check out 730 Tavern and Kitchen. It is one of my go-to spots in Boston!

They have a large menu with something for everyone. They have a vast selection of appetizers, flatbreads, crisp salads, sandwiches, and burgers. I have never gotten a thing here that wasn’t phenomenal.

The portions are very large. My personal favorite is the Reuben Sandwich with Truffle Tots! The sandwich is ginormous, plenty to split with another person.

The Reuben comes piled high with juicy corned beef, melty Swiss, Thousand Island, & tangy Sauerkraut. The marble rye toasts well and holds up to the ingredients of the sandwich.

We also are a huge fan of the California Burger. The burger is HUGE. The burger is topped with applewood smoked bacon, sriracha aioli, and avocado.

They also have a solid selection of sides included with your sandwich or burger! You can pick from fries, tots, mashed potatoes, salad, rice, coleslaw, Brussels sprouts, grilled asparagus, and garlic broccoli. Our personal favorite is the Brussels Sprouts. They are phenomenal.

My only complaints are burger temperature & take-out packaging. The burger was a bit over cooked, I ordered it medium rare. The truffle tots that came with the Reuben were a touch overdone.

As for the to-go packaging, they really need to improve on that. They use the plastic containers which trap in the heat leading to soggy tots and a soggy sandwich or burger.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner this past Friday and the service was not good. Once we got seated we had to wait 15 minutes for our server to take our order as we saw 2 other tables that came in AFTER us getting served before us. When our waiter finally comes over she isn't knowledgeable of the menu/drinks. I ordered the Mac & cheese with buffalo chicken as a main dish with the waiter but what I received was the side version with no chicken. I told the person who brought out my food that I had ordered the main entree plate and when he comes back, the Mac and cheese did not have the chicken I ordered with it! After messing up my order twice I got annoyed and didn't want to send it back. Again. After my boyfriend and I eat, the waiter doesn't come to check on us the whole time and we waited an extra 20 minutes for her to just bring the check when we were already done eating. She didn't come to check on us once after she brought us hot sauce and apologized for messing up my order when the new plate came out; we kept looking to see if she came out but she never did. On New Year’s Eve, we bought four tickets for event to celebrate new year, one of our friend was running late and came 12:10am, The manager named Lucas Barbosa was so unpleasant, and refused to let her in 730 Tavern. He claimed it’s after 12 AM!! After we numerously explained, we already bought the ticket and she was running 10 minutes late. He was both unreasonable and unwelcoming. During that time people were going in and out of the restaurant and he was only focused on our friend. He had no consideration for the New Year’s, or people coming out to celebrate, and he showed no empathy.

At this time, after ordering food and drinks, we had to leave because of the unpleasantly, and the group who running the event were also begging him to let her in. They explained she already purchased the ticket, which he responded not from me. So we had to leave, A sad way to start the beginning of the New Year. I asked him for his full name and I told him that I will share my experience, and we are leaving, he responded sure good night.

Overall, I will never come to this place, or suggest anyone that I know to come....
