Having gone to this place multiple times growing up I am happy to say it has remained a core place to dine, get coffee or catch up with acquaintances and loved ones in the Central Square area. The restaurant has regular dining tables, but also seating with cushions, and pillows which give the space a warm, familiar and homey feel. I will speak on what was ordered during this experience. Excellently seasoned home fries for my baby nephew, Foole with Arabic bread as pictured below. My brother ordered a chicken shawarma and I purchased the Hummus Ajami with chicken that I’d highly recommend for a filling, savory meal that is paired excellently with the bread provided. Given it was brunch time, the turtle latte was sampled which was just the right amount of sweet heaven. The Arabic coffee was strong, smooth and went fantastically with cardamom providing a floral and earthy flavor profile. The Nutella cappuccino shown had a flavor profile reminiscent of hot chocolate that you’d sip by the fire on a cold day while bundled in a blanket. The location itself was bustling with so many people enjoying themselves and the folks working there were kind and provided stellar recommendations on what to order. Would highly recommend!

Andala Coffee House offers a peaceful respite for those in search of a breakfast or brunch with an exotic twist. It’s decorated with charming Middle Eastern inspired decor, and on my recent visit, the relaxed ambiance and attentive staff ensured a pleasant dining experience. Looking for a more filling start to our day, my friend and I chose the Kufta Besiniah and Chicken Kabob for our brunch. Both dishes, served with rice and vegetables, proved to be excellent choices. The Chicken Kabob was particularly good. Crafted from tender chicken breast, the dish was moist and flavorful, avoiding the dryness that often plagues this cut. The accompanying Jineen salad, a mix of cucumber, fresh parsley, and tomatoes, added a refreshing counterpoint to the savory kabob. Equally enjoyable was the Kufta Besiniah, a sumptuous dish featuring a 'meat pancake' of baked ground beef, generously topped with fresh tomatoes. Despite its thickness, the beef remained tender and succulent. Paired with onions and grilled bell peppers, this dish provided a satisfying complexity of flavors. The Andala Coffee House proves a cozy haven for those in search of an interesting, filling brunch. It's a delightful experience well worth the visit.

March 29 (Saturday), 2025. The place appears to be a repurposed victorian era house, and in it's current restaurant form, it gave a `student hangout cafe' vibe. We came here around 4pm specifically looking for desserts. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Baklava or the Nammoura. I ordered the knafeh (which I had some idea about from eating Dubai chocolate elsewhere). It is a bright orange disk-shaped dish (not a baked bread/cake/pastry) made with small fine needle-shaped things (which I think is semolina/ரவை) with melted cheese layer inside. It is soaked in a sweet water, with an intense flavour of rose, and topped with chopped pistachios. The melted cheese stretches like in a pizza. It's sweet to the right level, and I wish it was a bit more soggy/watery, I think the dish absorbed the sweet water too quickly. The mildly-salted nature of the cheese, and large portion made it complete in a sense that knafeh is a worthy hunger-satiating main-course and not an end-of-meal dessert.

Everything about this place is horrible. If anyone gives it a good review and continues to go back to this place, it means their standards are just as low as the standards of this restaurant.

We walk in, they say we can sit down anywhere. And then, we look around and someone suggests we sit on a couch. We want to eat sitting up on chairs. There are plenty of chairs around, but they try to direct us away from them.

No one brought any napkins to the table. We had to get spoons from someone behind the counter.

They ask for a tip, and they don't even come over to check on the table. This is counter service. No one gets a tip for working behind the counter. There is absolutely no table service here! How do they expect a tip? Absolutely ridiculous.

The food is bland, mediocre at best, really bad, nothing good about it at all.

The quantity is extremely small. This place is way overpriced.

We asked an employee about something on the menu, and she said yes. But then she said she wasn't sure. So she had to go check. Somehow we got the feeling that she never knew and that she lied to us. It just didn't add up. Rule number one: If you are not sure, don't say yes. Find out. Is that too much to ask? At this place, it seems like it is.

When they put the food down on our table, they couldn't even ask who ordered what. So they put the wrong plates and the wrong drinks in front of us. They didn't even ask! And they didn't even try to remember!

We got up to go to the counter to pay because it didn't look like anyone was going to come to the table and ask if we were ready for the check.

All in all, the service is really horrible. In fact, there is no service here. The food is low quality and at best mediocre. And for the plates we got, which were $15 each, the quantity was very very poor. They have no business charging that much money for such low quantity and low quality.

This place must close. Do not eat here. It's...

Quite Possibly the Worst Takeout Experience of My Life

If there were a way to give this place negative stars, I would. This wasn’t just bad. It was an insult to the very concept of food service. I came in expecting something simple: a bagel and turkey bacon. A basic order. Something a microwave could handle in under two minutes. Instead, I stood there for what felt like a hostage situation, 20 to 30 excruciating minutes, watching the staff fumble around like it was their first day on Earth.

The woman at the register was touching money and then my food with the same hands like we hadn’t just lived through a global pandemic. Hygiene? Not even in the vocabulary. Gloves? Forget it. To top it off, they didn’t even have change for a twenty. I had to wait while they scrambled around to find some, and when they finally did, they handed me five dollars and a pocket full of loose change like I had just panhandled outside.

It was so gross I left without even taking the food. That’s right. After waiting nearly half an hour for a bagel, I walked out hungry and offended.

Avoid this place like it is radioactive. I have had more satisfying meals at gas stations. If you’re looking for stale service, glacial speed, and unsanitary handling that will haunt your digestive system just by witnessing it, then by all means roll the dice. But if you value your time, your stomach, or your dignity, stay...

I usually never leave reviews but my experience here actually left me in tears. I came in on a Sunday afternoon, it was not really busy. I chose a seat and went up to the counter to take my order as I saw others doing so, and when I reached the person at the register they said that someone will come by to take my order. I said okay and sat down and waited 15 minutes, but I gradually saw people going up and taking their order. So I got up again and a different person behind the register took my order. My coffee came out in 10 minutes, but my food was still not out in 30 minutes. Two other ladies had ordered the same dish as me and received their food at this time. I asked if they received my order, or if everything was okay. They kept telling me 15 minutes. I waited over an hour after getting my coffee. I'm not sure why I waited so long. I heard such good things about the business. As I was getting up and grabbing my bag, someone comes to me with the Shakshokeh I ordered. The rice was dry/hard, and my eggs might as well have been hard boiled. I finished my coffee and still paid for the meal, but I was so disappointed and embarrassed by the service because other customers watched me ask 3 times for my meal over the span of 2 hours. I got there at 12:30 PM and left at 3 PM, still hungry...
