We stayed at the Horizon Inn for 4 nights. From checkin to checkout, Horizon Inn delivered a lovely stay in a convenient location at a reasonable (for Carmel) price. We stayed in King room 101 which had a king bed, fireplace, kitchenette, and balcony with an ocean view. The room was spacious and clean, loved having our own balcony which overlooked the pool. The 2 chairs and small table in the room were handy since we ate breakfast there every morning. ||Speaking of breakfast, we enjoyed the breakfast basket which was always delivered on time around 8:00. We were even able to request a night-before delivery when we had to catch an early tour one morning. The basket items were different every day - croissants or bagels, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, and juice. With the small fridge in our kitchenette, we could keep items like eggs and deli meats to supplement the breakfast basket. We scrambled eggs in the microwave a couple of mornings. ||The location of the inn was perfect for us. It was about a 10 minute walk to Ocean Ave where all the shops are located and another 5 or so down to the beach. We don’t mind walking at all so it was not a problem for us. Sure beat trying to find parking down there! Speaking of parking, the lot at the inn is small but there is additional parking in a garage or on the nearby streets. It was never a problem to find a spot in one of those places. ||We did take advantage of the afternoon happy hour everyday as well as the hot tub/spa area. Well-done and clean. We had to book Horizon Inn the same morning of our wedding anniversary because we got scammed by a local inn. We had a terrible experience with them where they tried to kick us out after we complained about a room they put us in where it was still under construction. It was not up to code or safe by any means.

We were referred to Horizon Inn in the morning by a contact, and it was a complete 180. The service is excellent, friendly, and prompt. Rudy is on top of his game. He took care of us from the minute we called him to check in and other small requests. Fabian was a brand new employee, and he was very professional and kind. The staff here is kind and excellent at customer service.

We want to thank you Rudy and Fabian for completely turning our wedding anniversary around from tears in the morning to an excellent, fun, and relaxing experience. We enjoyed the spacious room, beautiful view, quiet location, friendly housekeeping, the lovely morning picnic basket with good quality items, and the fireplace & spa.
