Southern Suites Carrollton — Hotel in Carrollton

This hotel is just awful. I rented a room for my niece's college orientation. One night. I didn't want to spend a lot of money. They couldn't find my reservation. I made that reservation months ago. 20 minutes wasted there checking in as the lady at the desk and the manager Eli talked and tried different things with the computer system. She ended up having to enter my information manually, taking even more time.

The area outside looked old and dirty. The room was fairly clean except for dead bugs on the windowsill. Tiny room! It was only for one night, though, and I was trying to save money.

The worst was that I came back from the first day of orientation and the fire alarm batteries were old. It was beeping every 3 minutes or so. I found that nobody monitors the property at night. The office is closed, and they have an emergency number posted. That went straight to voicemail.

I let them know I put the keycards (only one worked) through the mail slot in the door and left to find a different hotel. They still haven't called me back.

Update: After several attempts to contact them on my behalf, Hotels.com reports that they refused to refund my money for a room I...

Booked the room on Expedia. Showed up, on a Saturday night at 7:30. No one was in the lobby, on a Saturday night mind you. I called the number and a lady answered and basically told me I had to wait until 10pm to check in. When I asked her to refund my room she said I had to call Expedia but she would agree to refund. When Expedia called them she told them there would be no refund and kept my money. Horrible service no lobby after 6 and shady customers. Do not go here, ever. Unless you're going to hide from the police...
