The hotel and most of the staff were very helpful.
I was disappointed with the breakfast. It was at an additional cost and the selections available were limited. I've had better quality and variety offered at hotels with the breakfast included.
My pet peeve with beverage service is the use of a carafe that has previously held coffee for hot water. The hot water picks up the smell and flavor of the oils in the coffee and I find coffee flavored tea to be very unappealing. When I complained to the gentleman on duty in the evening he nicely threw the hot water away for me but essentially just grunted at me. The gentleman who was on duty the next morning was totally the opposite. He agreed the water did smell like coffee, disposed of both the water and the cup, and got me a fresh cup and water directly from the hot water spigot attached to the coffee makers. He apologized, stated he had two carafes that were supposed to be dedicated to hot water and would remind the staff of the importance of keeping them dedicated to hot water.
I found the suite comfortable but very sterile feeling rather than welcoming. The couch wasn't the most comfortable one I've ever sat on, making it more of an effort to use rather than a comfy place to relax. The bed, pillows, and bathroom were all fine. The couch was placed directly opposite the TV on the wall which resulted in one light being centered over the couch and the other one in the middle of no where. The two lights looked like the couch should have been centered below them, but that would have made it difficult to watch the television. The room had a Keurig coffee maker, which would have been fine if you drink coffee but resulted in coffee flavored tea. Yuck. The walls were very plain and it appeared that one vase from the divider above the desk had been removed, as evidenced by the circle appearing there. Also, if two people had been sharing the room and one wanted to sleep while the other watched TV or if they wanted to watch two different programs it would have been challenging since the wall between the living and sleeping areas was an open grid with vases displayed. The lighting was very subdued, particularly in the living room area, making it difficult to read or do needlework.
If I had to I would stay here again but I would prefer to stay in a hotel with better lighting in the room and breakfast included. While it was nice to have a suite with distinct sitting and sleeping areas I would have been fine with a pleasant room with a comfortable chair to relax in and good lighting by the chair so I could comfortably read or do needlework. Since I was travelling alone I didn't need all the space that...

On April 25, 2025, I was informed by the housing department at NC State that I had until 10am on May 4th, 2025 to move off campus since I've completed my program.
Luckily, I was able to secure an apartment and was scheduled to move-in on May 2nd. However, something happened with the carpet and/or pipes and my move-in date was delayed (not denied)...
So, as a Choice Rewards member, I came to this location and stayed from May 1st, 2025 through May 12th, 2025.
Disclaimer: This is NOT an extended-stay. But, as a mother and Lyft Driver, I knew this location was one of the safest due to it being in such close proximity to the airport.
I, personally, have seen Durham, Raleigh, Morrisville AND Airport Police drive cul-de-sac that the Cambria sits in. There are ALWAYS law enforcement in this area because there are about 4 hotels around the Cambria, including a restaurant.
When I arrived to the hotel, I was informed that service technicians were changing the locks on the doors. So, instead of the doors that allow you to insert the hotel room key, it is now the "touch-access". I, personally, saw them change the locks.
When I was there, the pool was getting upgraded! So, we were unable to use the pool but will return for a stay-cay sometime soon.
When I was there, the breakfast was our (my daughter and I) favorite part of the day! From scrambled eggs to gravy sausage, we absolutely loved eating in the morning.
Our Room: We had a double bed suite. That way, if my daughter needed to use the couch area to complete a project or so, she could. The beds are so comfy! I remember falling straight to sleep after a long day of moving only to wake-up to the Boomerang channel.
The shower have different shower-pressures, and a place to put your bath/cleaning needs.
In essence, our room was very spacious.
The Staff: Tyrell for the WIN!!! Tyrell is one of the overnight managers and is going to make sure that your stay is exactly how it needs to be. Now, please note that he is NO magician and cannot accommodate everyone, but I have seen him do his absolute best in trying to accommodate various customers.... especially on Mother's Day weekend.
The owners of the hotel are business, business, business. But, after they learned what was happening (me graduating State, waiting on my apartment), they greeted us with a smile every-other-time they saw us: "Good morning! How was your night?" or "Good morning, is everything okay with your stay? Is there anything you have seen to make it better?"
In closing, I thank you all for making sure we were okay, and Tyrell, thank you for the fresh cookies!
Thank...
Read moreThank you for the opportunity to provide feedback on my recent stay at Cambria Hotel & Suites. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory and highlighted significant concerns that I believe should be addressed promptly.
During my stay, I noticed numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout the property. The room I stayed in exhibited significant signs of neglect, including a shower floor with severely stained grout, rust on the lamp bases, and a headboard that was visibly old and fraying at the edges. The overall state of the room conveyed a lack of attention to upkeep and basic maintenance. Additionally, there was an unpleasant, pervasive odor in the air each day, which I raised with a hotel attendant. Although I was told it was due to outdoor smoking, the smell was far stronger and more unpleasant than cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, my concerns were not adequately addressed, leaving me to deal with the discomfort for the duration of my stay.
The breakfast offerings were also underwhelming. Despite assurances at check-in that waffles were available, they were not offered on either morning of my two-day stay. The breakfast selection was minimal, and when I inquired, I was told the limited options were due to a delayed supply truck. Regardless, the lack of proper preparation to ensure a complete breakfast experience added to my dissatisfaction.
I posted a detailed review about my experience, and while I did receive a response from hotel management, it felt generic and insincere. The response appeared to be more of an acknowledgment rather than a reflection of genuine ownership of the issues I raised or a commitment to meaningful change. This lack of engagement is concerning and reinforces the impression that real improvements are unlikely to be prioritized.
Cambria Hotel & Suites is in severe need of renovation and routine upkeep. The state of the property makes it abundantly clear that maintenance has been neglected over time, and many furnishings and fixtures are overdue for replacement. The hotel’s interior looks dated and poorly maintained, which creates an environment that feels neither comfortable nor hygienically clean. While the staff I encountered were pleasant, they appeared indifferent to the condition of the hotel.
Given my experience, I cannot recommend this property and will not be returning. I hope that this feedback serves as a catalyst for substantial and necessary improvements to enhance the guest experience and restore confidence...
