Jessica wanted to buy my furniture and put a $20 deposit through Venmo at 7 in the morning the day I placed it for sale. I accepted and said I would be putting the 4 pieces outside to make room for new furniture. This furniture was purchased on marketplace just the week before, but didnât work in my space. I did not list the furniture as wood. It was clearly Ikea-type furniture. Jennifer arrived 2 hours after she said. She would arrive and when she got her she said she was a refinisher and couldnât refinish it as it had water damage and wasnât wood. This was a dresser, a tall chest and 2 nightstands. For $200. I said it clearly isnât wood, not listed as wood (listed as âbrownâ) and if she was a professional, she would have asked if it was furniture she could paint white or black or blue which is all she does. She became violently loud yelling at me in the driveway. I was shocked. Then I just started laughing. She is unstable and unprofessional. Screaming she wanted her deposit back. For 1 deposits are just that. The deposit holds your purchase so the seller doesnât sell it before you can get to it. It is generally accepted it is not refundable. I had a guest that had helped me move and we were watching a football game. I told her I would be happy to send her back her deposit after the game. She continued to scream, opening my front door and stepping inside telling me she was going to report me to Facebook marketplace for not returning her deposit. And she wanted at least half of it back. I did return half of her deposit at that point so she would stop screaming in my Cul de sac. After speaking to others, I understand this is par for the course for Jessica. I would not recommended doing...
Read moreI bought a dresser back in December under the impression that it was ârefinishedâ , upon arrival she stated that it wasnât real wood and to be careful with what is placed on it because of the very cheap material âusedâ to create the look. However, that wasnât the issue. When I arrived back home with the dresser and begin using it the shelves fell in, itâs eight drawers, all but maybe two fell in. Next thing I noticed two of the top drawers were missing apparent screws that are needed to hold them in place. I instantly reached out to her and she stated that it was originally from target, which is presumed to be false simply from the poor quality of this dresser, and that itâs a manufacture error⌠missing screws and shelves not properly being placed is NOT a manufacturers issue this dresser did not come from the manufacture put together this was her work or her husbands. From then to now the entire dresser has just fallen apart. Terrible customer service and I DO...
Read moreI was looking for someone who could make my vision a reality when I found Jess at New to You Redo! My husband and I recently purchased his childhood home and there was 40+ years of accumulated stuff to contend with. We already had years of our own stuff to find a place for in a smaller home. I wanted to somehow integrate some of his parents things in with our stuff (I'm sentimental that way), but our styles are different. His parents had a fantastic old mid century bedroom set in the master bedroom that was just too much furniture to use in a secondary bedroom, so I needed to repurpose some of it---that's where Jess at New to You Redo came in. I thought that the dresser could look good in our living room but I wanted it to look fresh, new and updated...I had a very specific look in mind, a specific color with 'statement' brass hardware. I shared my ideas with Jess at New To You and she literally brought them to life, completely exceeding my...
