It took the man at check-in about 10 "back and forth" in conversation to understand that I was checking into my room I had reserved. Didn't feel professional or even like he worked there or knew what was going on. Once I was told where my room was, I had to go down some stairs in a dimly lit stairway "dugout" where there were multiple rough looking men there with their dog and seemed like they were up to no good. I didn't feel like walking back outside was going to get me to my room, but after walking back and forth several times, I had to go outside. Once I walked through the guys just hanging out under the stairs, I went to my room, locked the door, and didn't leave again until I was forced to check out of my room for the entire stay. I set my Doordash (spent too much money because felt unsafe) to must hand to me because I didn't want anyone stealing my food. The air conditioner sounded like a car motor revving. I had to turn off the AC/heat when I needed to use the phone, or else I would not be able to hear who I was talking to. The covers had cigarette burns in them and were sharp, causing me to scratch my skin when I slid my legs into the covers. There was no shampoo...I have never used a hotel room that did not have a little bit. There was also someone's very long pubes on the inside of the shower curtain near the feet. Unfortunately, I had to learn that after laying back in the bath and looking 1 inch away...
Read moreBeware. There’s a big difference between Motel 6 and Motel 6 “studio”. We’ve stayed here twice when it was Quality and while it was always decent. I booked 2 rooms through the website. We go to check in and you’re talking to a guy through a little hole. He tells us our rooms and we go find them and they’re outside facing rooms. We didn’t even know they had these. The one room reeked like smoke , the bathroom door was horribly broken to the point it didn’t close , water bugs everywhere, tv had no sound , air conditioning didn’t work. The other room the refrigerator leaked leaving a huge puddle in the middle of the floor and the floor was sticky. The rooms both had (dead thankfully) roaches. We all came in late so we really couldn’t do anything about it. I spoke to the desk clerk the next morning and no manager was on duty. She wasn’t even apologetic at all. When I asked her why we were put in horrible outdoor facing rooms she said because motel 6 and studio were 2 different entities and the motel 6 rooms were the outside ones. No where on the site did it say anything about it being different. The manager is supposed to contact me tomorrow to discuss this. If not I will be calling them myself. Update: Filed a complaint w/ Motel 6 corporate. They couldn't even get in touch w/ the General Manager who is supposed to follow up w/ me within 5 days. Totally unacceptable that there is no...
