I stayed at Best Western Central city KY the day before my birthday . I was working and was passing through. At approx 9pm there was noise in the hallway and I called the front desk and was told by the girl that she'd take care of it. The noise kept on and I called again. The girl said she would either move them or tell them to leave. It became quiet as they all left and I went to sleep at around 930pm as I needed up at 6.00 am. At 1230 -1.00 am I was woke up people screaming banging on the walls basically having a party in the hallways. I called the front desk and was told by a diffrent clerk on duty that he wasnt going down ther and for me to tell them to be quiet. So I yelled out the door from the inside and said I was trying to sleep and that they needed to be quiet. They cursed at me and told me to open the door. So I opened the door and steped outside and it shut behind me and locked. Then I was surrounded by at least Drunk Tva workers with beer in some of there hands. One of them pushed up against me I shoved him away. Then I was grabbed from behind put in achoke hold trying to choke me enough to put me to sleep while the other men punched me in the face back of the head and everywhere else. The desk clerk came and was told to stay out of it. He called the police and I was able to stay on my feet until the police came and put one one the ground and in cuffs. I went ot the hospital for bruises to my throat and a large knot on my head. I was told by management that the guys would be leaving in the morning and my stay would be free. I was surprised that they were not kicked out of the motel and that a video of it which was taken starting about half way through 45 minutes of me fighting for my life was good enough for them to say i started it. 1. I'm 51 years old and I dont pick fights with 6 drunk guys half my age at 1.00am in the morning. 2. The best western gets alot of money from the tva workers there that book about 89 rooms a night and do not want to loose that revenue. So basically they chose money over my safety. The worst thing is that they charged me for the room the night that this happened. Rhonda let me have the next night for free to recover because I couldnt drive the next day but let me know that she didnt have to.There is a police report and a emergency room bill. Im still trying to decide whether sue best western. They are also not to concerned with it either Know any good lawyers in...
Read moreWe were on a driving trip, and stayed in room 203 a few nights. It has two very comfortable queen beds and comfy pillows. We loved that there were real blankets on the beds, not those duvets that are often too warm and are an all-or-nothing option when trying to sleep.||All the nice amenities you expect of a well-run BW property (we are fans of the brand, and members of the loyalty club): fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker, iron/board, big work desk and ergo chair, good sitting chair, good bedside lights for reading. 3-drawer chest to stash your stuff. Nice sitting chair.||Excellent housekeeping.||The bathroom has a combination tub/shower. Nice vanity with room to spread out your stuff. Good towels, Nice toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion.||Complimentary wifi and HVAC work well.||Very good breakfast of hot and cold items, including a rotating menu of cheese omelettes and other egg items, sausage, biscuits & gravy, make-your-own waffle, etc. Cereals and breads. In a perfect world, there would be at least one cereal available that is not sweetened (even the Cheerios were "lightly sweetened.") Extra credit for the real half-and-half for coffee.||Friendly, helpful staff throughout.||So why not five dots?||Really annoying: the TV system needs to be redone or replaced. Even when we first checked in, the staff had to show us how to reboot the system by diddling with something in the back of the screen. You had to do this EVERY time you turned on the TV. A paper guide to channels would also have been nice, rather than scrolling through the many channels to find your favorites. To their credit, there were a lot of channels.||The bath tub/shower needs a grab bar. A hook on the wall in the bathroom for your robe or clothes would be nice.||Two mornings they forgot to replace the coffee setups.||The pool looked nice but was closed for some reason. We didn't want to use it, but I'm sure there might have been families who book this as an amenity for the kids.||So - these issues are relatively minor (except the TV thing) and could be easily fixed. It's worth giving this place a try for a very comfortable room otherwise, good breakfast, and not far from the highway. A few good restaurants are not...
Read moreThe room was hot all night even with the A/C at 65. Would not cool very well. Our room was right next to the maintenence room and everytime they turned water on it was super loud and woke us up. Other than that the place wasn't much to complain about untill it came checkout and we were unable to checkout at 11 so we needed extra time and the manager was appearantly very rude and disrespectful towards my wife as I was not there. Will not stay again. Absolutely no reason to be rude or disrespectful to someone because they aren't able to checkout at 11 when if needed we can always have a late checkout. Absolutely no excuse for it. Whoever the manager was I hope you see this and correct yourself because not everyone will be as nice as my wife was. Especially if I knew about it before...
