El Bracero of Central City — Restaurant in Central City

Was sat in back waited for 10 minutes before being served. The food came out and we had no plates so we started using napkins and the wax paper for our plates. Drinks ran dry (tea) and had one refill and when waiter asked how our food was he never noticed we didn't have plates. Our appetizer came out after the main dish and it was greasy and looked and tasted like salty alpo (dog food). Having eaten at other El Bracero restaurants we thought this would be good. It was one of the worst experiences in a Mexican restaurant I have ever experienced. Floors are dirty and if I could take pictures and post them I most definitely would. This El Braceros has a better chance in an episode of kitchen nightmares. #cheframsey. I will probably never eat at an El Braceros again. Good food. Not the usual Mexican restaurant menu! This was more authentic of true Mexican. Unfortunately we chose the night before Thanksgiving to dine here so we didn't have to mess the kitchen up, and EVERYONE else had the same idea. The staff were all moving fast and the food came out in a decent amount of time. They lost a star because the food was just not that tasty. When I think Mexican food the last word I think of is "bland". I used half a bottle if hot sauce on my enchiladas to spice them up! My parents got taco salads which were huge, but consisted mostly of shredded lettuce and cheese. Maybe they expected them to use the provided chip salsa for a condiment. Would i recommend El Bracers? Yes! They did all they could to make my experience great during an unbelievable long day. IF they hadn't been so busy I would venture any food issue would have been handled. I have to say that the food was good. But service was awful. Not once but 3 times. I am in town for work, stationed literally 1000 feet from this restaurant for 2 months. I wanted so bad for this place to be a nice place to relax after work. 3 separate visits. Every time the food was good, but nobody was friendly, the bartender was cold & act as though serving me was an inconvenience. Each time I left paying around $40 for dinner & drinks, tipped well, was a gentleman & got awful service. Bartender told me he would not give me more limes because I didn't seem to like them?
