we arrived at the hotel on Friday at about 4:30 pm. We had to wait quite a while until a person answered the ring at the office. He seemed surprised that we booked a room with 2 beds and asked me to wait a moment. After a long time he finally came back and gave us the key to the room.|We were shocked at the room - first, the floor had a considerable layer of water on it, especially in the bathroom. I soaked some up with towels and then we had to leave. |Other weirdly disgusting stuff about the room: the window sills were black with dirt and layered with dead flies. The sink bowl was stained with yellow spots and very dirty behind the faucet. The door to the bathroom did not close well - and this was because the panel of one side of it was mostly loose.|Maybe they did not have a room with 2 beds ready - so the person immediately washed the floor in that room (but did not dry it), as well as did not clean anything else and neglected to notice that the door is falling apart.|I was going to write a review right away, but did not find the time. Now I am again looking for hotels in the area and noticed that this hotel's reviews average 4 out or 5 points. How can I choose a hotel by ratings if this one has 4 star rating? |I noticed that all the reviews for this hotel are from 2018 and earlier. Nobody reviewed it in the last 7 years (or were the reviews only bad and...
Read moreWe chose this motel because our stay was during the peak season for proms/ weddings and we were not willing to pay $250 a night at our usual Hampton Inn & Suites. You get what you pay for in this case so we're not trying to be overly picky. We just want to give you a fair and honest view of what to expect. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They did charge us an extra $20 early check-in fee for being 30 minutes early. True, we chose to pay it but obviously it was ready so....The room was dirty enough that we needed to wipe down everything so don't expect it to be very clean. Furniture/decor was a bit dated and definitely could use a renovation. There was literally a totally exposed flat wire hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom (we took a king, one of the best rooms they have to offer). Paper thin walls, so of course we had to hear the people next door at 4 am. No iron. Did have a mini fridge and a microwave. Very low water pressure and the water doesn't get too hot either. Got a sheet and a top cover on the bed to sleep under. All that being said, it has one of the best locations for everything you could want in the greater West Chester area so if you don't really care about the amenities and just want a cheap motel it will do fine. It sits back a good bit from the road so if you're being discreet you...
Read moreI’m a bit of a Suvivor fan and would be willing to bet on this as a great project to be a part of the team in the long run as it is very much a project from long ago. Special Forces at minimum. Smoke alarms scarce and after a long time paying $90/night and an occasional $5 discount, I am not sure where the listed price is from but not here. It’s more like camping and plan on getting some sort of coffee maker for your own use. Non provided. Fridge was good as was the TV on Comcast, but the bathroom is circa 1945,and the shower is really a bit of a hassle and doesn’t really get much water out of it. In December the bathroom is about 40 degrees and the room has a combination a/c and heater that drowns out any volume of the TV. The best part is the Owner and his wife who are the only staff. Expect to have a lot of visits for a few hours of folks who just want to be alone for a couple hours. Perhaps that is what the rate is for! The microwave is good for heating up coffee after the 2 mile round trip to the Wawa, and leave any open food in the car. Otherwise we rough necks love the place where you can get some rest and it is quiet. It is what it is, and just too much for a husband wife team to bring back the 1950’s “no tell “ motel. No need to worry too much for...
