Years ago, I used to shop at another CM location (East Norriton) but due to a negative experience pertaining to the return policy, I stopped shopping there. When I moved to West Chester, I was thrilled to have the chance to shop at another location. I have been a regular customer at CM West Chester for 2 years, both buying and selling clothes. I have had nothing but positive experiences during each visit in.
I visited the West Chester store today to sell a bag of clothes and shop the Labor Day sale. Upon checkin, I was informed that my account was blocked by the franchise. This is because I had left a 1 star review. Puzzled, I explained that I have been selling and purchasing clothes at this location for 2 years… Why would my account be blocked now? I showed proof on my Google reviews page that the 1 star review was left at the East Norriton store 6 years ago for a 1 star experience I had there. I purchased a Kate Spade bag which was advertised as tote. It was actually a diaper bag. I tried returning the item less than 24 hours later when I realized it was not in fact a tote, and I was told they could not accept return of accessories. I showed the owner the Kate Spade website as proof it was a diaper bag, and I asked if there was any way she could make an exception since they falsely advertised the item, and she refused. The manner in which she handled the issue was really upsetting. So I never went back.
It is really such a shame this happened. If the store owner or franchise wanted to reach out to me via phone or email to resolve my 1 star review any time over the last 6 years, I would have gladly worked with them. Instead, they blocked my account from being able to sell clothes at any other location in the country. This really is a terrible way to handle conflict with your customers. I was told I could sell clothes today if I deleted my 1 star review, but after this… I will certainly stand by my 1 star review.
I took great pride in shopping at Clothes Mentor over the years. It means a lot to me to purchase my clothes pre-owned for ethical and environmental reasons. I referred many people here. It is a shame that I can no longer support Clothes Mentor’s business model due to lack of customer service, and blatant disrespect.

Have been a seller and buyer for many years and this is not the normal experience that was encountered today. I brought items in to sell, the young lady stay in store or leave. I replied stay and wait and shop. Was informed I would receive a text, as per usual when they would be done. Waited well over an hour and thought maybe they are busy. After an hour I went up to check, same young lady told me I said I would be beck later(not accurate). I informed her I was diabetic and needed to take my insulin. How here is where things go sideways. She did not acknowledge my statement or take responsibility for the error. Told me she could do it now. As I said being diabetic I could not wait any longer in store. I am aware of your policy to be in store for same day drop off, however I feel as though it should have been offered for me to go eat and take insulin. There is a restaurant right next door. Not only was the suggestion not made and no admission that the clerk was in error and offer a apology. This is just plain good business practices. This encounter has left a sour taste from Clothes Mentor for me. It was always a great pleasure to do business with your establishment. Would even bring friends and recommend to others. Received a fake Coach bag I purchased from their site and let them know immediately.
Ordered the very small bag from them on 11.16 and received it on 11/24. Not sure why I paid $8.99 for the slowest shipping possible, on an item that weighed less than 1 pound?
Anyway, they responded and said they were sorry for the "mistake"... I responded back to let them know selling fakes is not a mistake and that there are laws around selling counterfeit items and that they should be authenticating every bag they sell.
They had nothing to say in response to that but they sent me a GROUND shipping label to return the bag.
So I packaged up the bag and drove to the post office so I could ship it back to them. Now I have to wait for my refund when it was their fault. Complete waste of my time.
Initially I wasn't going to leave a negative review but the GROUND shipping label just took the cake for me. Clearly this was NOT a "priority" for them.
This is not the first issue I’ve had with this CM location. I also ordered a wallet in October and it just never came. Never even started tracking. It only showed that they created a label.
