Once again, we just had an absolutely delicious dinner at this unassuming local restaurant, which seems to do a bustling take-out business but has only recently reopened for eat-in dining.
The staff is delightful and more than willing to offer guidance on choosing dishes. We aren't fond of sushi, a specialty there, but there's lots else to get on the menu and we loved what we ordered the last time we ate there. This time, on the advice of our server, we got two new dishes, both terrific and both beautifully presented. Neither one was standard American Chinese fare (though if that's what you like, they'll make it. We love sauteed string beans with garlic and chili peppers and they'll adjust dishes to taste, so that's just what we got.)
My dish in particular (Mala Chicken) was stellar -- a recipe apparently created by the owner that features pieces of chicken in a tasty "dry" sauce with a large amount of fresh vegetables, cut into attractive shapes and cooked just right (asparagus, zucchini, snow peas, green pepper, onion, etc...)
How lucky we are that this is our "local" Chinese place. It's...
Read moreWe have gone here ever since they opened at this location. Found the food to be good but it’s gone downhill over time. My issue and the main reason for the lower rating is that we use them for take out. For some reason they (very) frequently mess up the order. I ordered hibachi shrimp fried rice and there was not one single piece of shrimp in it. We were charged for shrimp and it showed it as such on the ticket. Normally this would be annoying but tonight both my husband and I were feeling ill and ordered out. It was all he could do to go pick up the order so he couldn’t return it and wait for a replacement. I know mistakes happen but to have it happen regularly puts me off. The woman on the phone was pretty disinterested so they have...
Read moreThe first time my father in law brought us. That was with my wife and 2 kids under 6. It was so good that I came a second time and ordered the exact same thing to see if the quality and representation was the same. I was amazed that it was. My family loved the sushi and I had the general tso with brown rice and wanton soup. The wanton is the thin noodle which tastes better and must be cooked just right. The general tso is mostly chicken with a light crunchy breading and this is what you expect from every general tso order but usually don't get. Just amazing. Even the side of broccoli is cooked just right and doesn't come with the sauce on it, but fresh and sitting on the side. Love the service as well.
Update: 10/2021 Still fantastic food...
