The way in which I was treated here during my stay was just beyond disappointing. I would never recommend staying at this hotel to anyone. My boyfriend, mother and I were completely disrespected in every possible way.
My mother was cooking dinner and somehow it triggered the smoke alarm in our suite. We proceeded to open up the door so that the smoke can leave the room but were told to close the door closed (it would trigger the alarm in the hallway). About three minutes later, the engineer made his way up to our suite. My mother told him that there was no fire. He then closed the front door and asked my mother if he could go inside of the room. My mother notified him that her daughter (myself) was inside and suggested he knock before entering. The engineer knocked on the door twice and barged right in without waiting for my approval to come inside of the room. I felt completely violated and embarrassed as I did not have any pants on. I looked at him in the eye and told him that I did not have any pants on but the only thing he said to me was "oh I'm sorry" and continued to head towards the window (he needed to open up the window so that the air can escape). I found it completely unprofessional and disrespectful that he didn't exit the room and wait until I had time to put some pants on. It also didn't help that he ended up spilling some monster energy drink on the floor.
It gets worse. I called the front desk to let them know about the situation and Maria (front desk agent) did not seem to care at all. The only thing she stated was "Im sorry, I will speak to him." Are you kidding me?! Thats all you have to say about what I just explained to you?
After speaking to Maria, my mother called back and spoke with the manager that was there at the time (don't remember her name). Of course we were met with the same attitude like Maria. She was completely defensive and biased. She did not offer any kind compensation whatsoever. My mother had to literally say "you aren't going to offer any compensation?" The manager's response was "what do you want?" Eventually my mother asked for at least one free night but she told her "no" because there was no inconvenience towards you. The manager ended up speaking to the general manager to help resolve the situation, but the only thing he offered was $50.
As if $50 is enough to compensate for the humiliation I had just gone through. A man had just walked in on me while I was half naked. A grown man too! Who knocks on a door twice and not wait for a response from whomever is inside of the room?! That is just not okay.
At around 6:30pm, my boyfriend arrived. I filled him in on the situation and he was furious. He decided to call the front desk and was met with such bad attitude. She was constantly cutting him off and kept on dismissing him. He eventually told her "I don't like your tone" and she replied "I don't like YOUR tone". He then asked her for her name and her response was "MA-RI-AH" So rude!
Afterwards, I called again because I was not over the fact that $50 was all that was offered. I spoke with the manager and requested that I speak with the general manager directly. He was not listening to a single word I was saying. The only things he stated was "he was just doing his job and didn't do anything wrong since he knocked." At that point, I was just in awe of what horrible customer service this place was offering. After all this back and forth, he finally decided to remove the cost of one of the nights.
I have never been filled with so much anger, embarrassment and disrespect all at once ever in my life. No one should ever feel violated nor uncomfortable when on vacation. You should feel safe knowing that your space is yours and that no one will disrupt it. The worse part about this whole situation was that it was on Thanksgiving! Avoid this place at all costs! Worse staff Ive ever encountered in my life and I used to work in the hospitality realm. I'm still waiting...
Read moreCame to Boston area for work 39 nights stay. Location of the hotel is a bit challenging, limited food options in the area didn't try Floramo's yet. Zero entertainment around. Lyft and Uber are good options to get to the downtown area otherwise the SL3 bus can get you to Boston for little money. In conclusion Homewood suites can be a good solution for long or short stays, just be prepared to make the best of the location if you...
Read moreThis hotel was a mixed bag for me. I'll start with the positive...|Breakfast was great and unique compared to other hotels I've stayed in. They had a breakfast burrito bar with pork carnival and pickled onions and queso fresco. All very yummy and fresh. |The room was nice and comfortable. Would be perfect for families and long term stays, there was a decent amount of stuff in the kitchen, but it would be nice if there was a can opener, some dish soap, and a sponge. The bed was a little firm for me, but I still slept well. |On to the negative. I will take responsibility for not reading all the policies and seeing that they charge for parking, but I think they should inform you at check in. I mean it's a hotel with a private lot so I don't understand charging paying guests $30/nt for parking. There are signs in the lot but honestly the way it worded my tired brain thought that they offer parking for non guests at that price...it's a massive mostly empty lot, so to me it just seems like a scam. When the girl at the desk gave us the parking pass it would have been nice if she'd explained the cost. Additionally on the app it says $25 for self parking but I was charged $30, so $90 for my 3 nights of parking. Insane. |Tying into the first problem, the second problem was lack of communication. I messaged them through the hilton app several times before and during my stay and only received a response 1 time. The last message was on my checkout day and I was trying to not miss breakfast and could not find the time anywhere on the app or website and unfortunately they never messaged me and I did end up missing breakfast. |The only other issue was the business center, I trued to use it once during my stay and I couldn't even get either computer to turn on. |All in all the most important aspects of a hotel were adequate at this location, but mainly the parking will keep me from ever staying here again. I'm staying in a different hotel in the area tonight and they have a similar setup and don't charge for parking and I looked at numerous other hilton brand hotel in the area and they also do not charge for parking. I at least want my $15 back since they overcharged me by $5/nt or they need to update the info on the app. If you don't care about being scammed for parking this is...
