Ho win used to be my favorite place to go to for Chinese food until last Friday. I will never spend another dollar there. On Friday I went out to dinner with my best friend we sat at the bar and immediately we were approached by a family really nice people we started talking laughing having a good time. We ordered drinks and food and when The family left the bartender came up to us and said “ my manager told me that you guys have to leave you guys are too loud”. Mind you it’s Friday night 10:30pm everyone is having a grand ol time and we are asked to leave. Not once were we asked to keep it down we were just told to leave. Food had just came out and our glasses were still full. I told the bartender we hadn’t even touched our food and she said you guys just have to leave so I asked for a box when I should have just walked out. Boxed my food and passed my debit card then she gives me the receipt and starts rushing me to sign and give it her. At this point I had had enough and I told her I paid you the card went through and I am finishing my drink I will sign the receipt when I’m done. She kept rushing me for the receipt. (Eyeroll) now I’m getting mad because now i feel like I’m being racially profiled. So I said to her I am not leaving you a tip so I don’t know why you are rushing me for this receipt. Never did the manager come to us to say anything he sent the bartender to deal with it how unprofessional! We weren’t being loud disrespectful r anything like that if anything we were friendly with the people that approached us and everyone at the bar. I should have walked out when she first said you guys need to leave but me being the good person that I am still asked for my food to be boxed and paid for the bill. And even if we were a little loud it’s a bar for Christ’s sake on a Friday night!Do not...
Read moreI received a terrible food delivery last night. Then I was utterly disrespected by Ella. I ordered $98.00 in food which included the tip. For the portion sizes, I was expecting an excellent meal. The shrimp entree was short 2 shrimp which they delivered made in a different sauce. The egg rolls and fried shrimp were excellent. The boneless ribs were very dry not burnt. They had to have been over boiled when first cooked. The beef teriyaki was over cooked and hard. The garlic lo mein was made with bitter garlic. It should have been thrown out and remade. At that point my company and I decided to not eat the food. I called but they closed early. Today I called and spoke to Ella. She yelled and speed talked above me. There was no manager coming in and they were closing for 2 months, per Ella. She refused to make good on the food or return my money minus the 2 appetizers. I remained calm during her rantings and told her to stop yelling that there was no need for it and to let m speak. At which point she hung up on me. This is a service industry. It doesn't matter who complained for what. Ho Win Palace has an obligation to make good on a bad meal. Ella tried to convince me they cook in bulk, but garlic lo mein is not a menu item. I requested it special. I was ripped off for $86.00. And I was treated with the utmost in disrespect. I won't accept that from people I know, I am not going to accept it from Ho Win Palace. I am returning the food right after this post, then filing with the BBB and anywhere else than will get my point across. You need to treat your customers with respect and provide them with their paid service and product...
Read moreI love the food, which has gotten better over the past 4 years.. the service is not great.. I see a bunch of reviews indicating the service is great! But this must be true to the patrons that are known to the staff.. my BF and I sat at the bar and had drinks while we waited for our take--out, Sonny (who never introduced himself but the other couple called him by babe) took a while to address us, despite the bar being dead.. then was overly nice to a couple that came in after us, engaging them the whole time he made our drinks (which took forever bcuz he was involved with the other couple).. also, EVERYTIME I call for delivery or take out, the young girl who answers gives me a hard time.. I've never run into a Chinese restaurant that said "no" to everything.. literally told me their website is owned by the previous owners, so the info on it is inaccurate.. even though I was reading her material from it that was dated for today.. It really sucks when you love the food, but every other fiber of your being is fighting the urge to pay them for...
