SPIDER ALERT!! Checked into the room as a last minute option and upon inspecting the room was pretty nice as far as lay out. Looking under chairs and stuff there were a lot of dead beetles which was a sign that they sprayed but they did not recently vacuum. When I swung back around to the main door there was a spiderweb connected from the door to the chair with a Black Widow in it! didn't even know that was possible!! I hit it several times with the bug spray as he brushed it off like it was water before he succumbed. Then I killed the smaller less threatening spider in the corner above the door. The next day on checkout, there was a large Wolf Spider waiting waiting at my door seal trying to get in, I guess he booked the room next. No bed bugs were noted nor roaches. Location wise, it a was quiet and no shady activity around.
HELPFUL TIP: Bring strong can of spray mainly for spiders and if staying longer than a day, the spray that creates the invisible bug border. Some rooms you might have to stuff a towel at the bottom of the door due to the poor sealing at the bottom.
Last minute update: See somebody open the door after I checked out so they can clean the room and the door has been opened for 20 minutes now with no cleaning crew around. And the big Wolf spider that I did spray (possibly dead but the guy doesn't know) is right in the front and he didn't try to shoo it away. Yeah, him and his friends will be in...
Read moreWe were in Room 125, non-smoking just beside the office. Room was quiet and well appointed. Bottom of door could use a sweep. Temps and bugs aren't bad in early April, so we didn't have a problem, but other times of year, that could be undesirable. Bulb in one lamp didn't work but we did OK with 1 lamp and the overhead. However, No lighting in the rear alcove beside the bathroom required a flashlight to program the AC unit or adjust the fridge at night. I accidentally froze the milk . Very powerful fridge and microwave but turnstile in microwave not working. NO SHAMPOO or CONDITIONER, only a single teeny tiny bar of soap, they don't provide it. We were staying here for a couple of days before our original reservation at Days Inn Chester . At Days Inn we paid $5 more but were greeted with unlimited shampoo, conditioner and larger soap, as well as pet friendly. The room at WH was generally good , the heat and AC worked . I do like parking right in front of the room. The television was a Panasonic brand. And it was a decent size BUT it was so old that it did not even have HDMI ports to use our fire stick or Roku stick for streaming which was disappointing. The Days Inn didn't have...
Read moreWell I stay here every so often to get away from home. Normally there rooms aren't bad. I asked for non smoking room due to my child and clearly there was open non smoking rooms but the person gave me a smoking room. The room that was appointed to me first thing I see was the huge burn hole threw the blanket. The head boards aren't there but the 2 by 4's are. Thirdly. I just watch cartoons so I go to the tv turn to Cartoon Network and to behold me was channel not available. Tried what I could do and couldn't figure it out. So i call up to the front desk for assistance and sure enough they couldn't do anything for my problem.. So I try to find anything on the 30 channels and there wasn't anything so I call back up to the front desk to see if they could re room my family and I or switch out my T.V and the desk clerk said that they couldn't do that. But I have a tablet so we get over it. Hours later I go to the mini fridge for a soda and would you know it still warm.
When I get a room I normally check for bed bugs I so far haven't found any but I find little blood stains all over the sheets plus random hair?!?! So after tonight's experience I wont be staying...
