Had a longer stay, in town on business. Let's see, calling the room a suite is a stretch, it does have a kitchen, but it sort of runs along the entrance hallway. It also has no eating table . They have an odd pull out deal, but seating at it would be awkward when pulled out - really suits but one person. We had no silverware or cooking utensils - they apologized and brought them up in a tray. They said that they should have been in top drawer in the "kitchen". They weren't in the drawer because the holder they won't fit! Too funny, they literally won't fit it drawer - almost nothing will. The flipper wouldn't even fit by itself. Microwave was way above my head and I am at 5'4". They substantially sacrificed common sense use, for a look. This M/W placement can be dangerous, they should have read my guess is, they should have read microwave install instructions. Elevator broke down, and I was on the 4th floor. Someone came eventually, but they didn't have proper equip to fix. Breakfast was, hmmm of the cardboard chemical preserved type, and no little no real options. Coffee does not go on until 7:00 AM so do not think about a quick start, unless you want to make coffee in your room. Came back to hotel around 11:30 PM and could not get in. They had locked the doors and there was no-one at the desk! This policy should have been stated at check-in! I couldn't readily find my key, so I was in a panic since you had to use your key to get in!!!! I had to go out to the fire pit area to dump my purse and find my room key - not a safe feeling that time of night. When I finally got in, I did see a guy sitting there watching TV, I assumed he was a guest. Since I saw him there multiple nights, I think he actually works there, and maybe should have been manning the desk. Fire pit is basically placed at the front door on the parking lot, which could have been great with a little thought. EVERYONE I talked to, tried to drive around to find the front of the hotel - you will see, it is NOT obvious that the entrance is the entrance. The overhang area over the unload space does NOT cover the car AT ALL - so weird! Bathroom was awkward, hairdryer cord when plugged in messed with drawers you would put you styling tools in - kept getting caught on handles. You have to turn shower head toward the wall a bit, otherwise it sprays out onto the floor (open shower). The "hot water" is NOT HOT. I had it turned all the way up to hottest level and still was not warm enough for me. This is the really funny thing, even though there is a wall directly across from the bed, the TV is on the wall to the left of the bed, so you are forced to look or turn sideways to watch, when in bed - same rings true when you watch from couch. If you pull it out on its arm, it blocks the access way to the bathroom - geez! Couch faces the bed - feels like a hotel room, not a suite. Disclosure, I am a designer so I am probably more aware of these problems, but I am also a frequent business traveler, so I am looking from that perspective as well. Service (other than the initial check-in which was good) ranged from average to poor. My impression was that nobody really gave a flip. The room did have surprisingly high quality cookware, was clean, and had a comfy bed with nice bedding. Shelving to store your own food items was nice as well! I wanted to like this hotel, just too many problems. It is close to the outlet mall - but not really...
Read moreRead for Criticism then PERKS. For being a "new hotel" ... yeah, it has the "new" smell, the hallways still reek of fresh paint and plaster but our room was not fresh. It hadn't been vacuumed, (we may have been skipped over because we were using points for the room and not paying full out cash? Or maybe house keeping was distracted, either way...) I found 4(!!!!) contacts (for your eyes) from previous visitors while my 1.5 yr old found Doritos on the floor and mass quantities of glitter all over the couch and roll away foot stool. There's still saw dust from drilling the headboard into the wall beside the bed on the running boards..kinda makes me think this place is NEVER vacuumed, being this hotels been open more than 6 months and there's still signs of saw dust. Also there's design flaws with the bathroom. The shower door is like middle school gym class, it's half a door, a single glass panel-no way to close it, not to mention the water pressure is an ABSOLUTE joke, BUT the water is not softened here so that is kinda its ONLY saving grace. The TP holder is facing backwards so you throw the tp on the floor everytime, GERMSSSS I'm 110 pounds, I'm not fat turning things into flaws and the sink counter is basically on top of the toilet.. bigger people aren't going to appreciate that. Next, the fridge had two ice cube trays that were filled with water, not ice, upon arrival, nbd, ice machines close, minor annoyance. BUT bring your own blankets if you plan to sleep, at all. The ones on the bed were decent ish, but the spare in the closet was the most itchy, scratchy blanket I've EVER sleept with, it wasn't a spare blanket so much as a STIFF, scratchy down feather comforter. The pillows are less than decent, the tiny throw pillow is what I had to use for any comfort. So you may as well pack your own sheets, comforter and pillows while you're packing for your get away.. Bed is pretty comfy otherwise lol. (Small update-I left and they "cleaned" while I was gone, didn't vacuum AGAIN, and I left a note about it on the 'who cleaned your room' ... so clearly they don't care about a visitors comfort. Also, like another reviewer said, the front desk was NOT friendly.) PERKS- The windows DO crack open, thank God. The air conditioning system is 100% perfect, no complaints there! Big plus: there are definitely enough USB ports to charge your phone, tablet, grandmas teeth, whatever. Pots and pans provided so you can whip up some spaghetti if you bring noodles and such. Cute little kitchen, but the room itself is QUITE small. If you need to use the pull out couch, it's toe to toe with the main bed. Overall it is doable if its just you for a night or weekend. But for a family, highly do not recomend a single king (can you really call that a king size.. maybe mini king...
Read moreAlthough a NEW Facility, the level of cleanliness of Guest Rooms is not at the HIGHEST standard. The Bathroom Toilet had dried up URINE running all down and around the bottom of the commode and on the seat too…..DISGUSTING to say the least. TP really need to invest in Bleach, Clorox and, or some similar sanitizing/cleaning and odor fresh products for cleaning bathrooms, including eradicating hairs left all over the toilet, tub, floors and bed linens too. Additionally, Carpet cleaning/deodorizing products is paramount in vacuuming floors each CHECK-OUT/CHECK-IN. Plus, air freshener to deFUNK the atmosphere from previous Guest stay Body Odors, as well as mold, mildew, drug paraphernalia and smoking smells allowed in facility. Other concerns include, lack of Kleenex, Toilet Tissue and Paper Towels upon Check-in. Half Rolls/Boxes are unacceptable for more than one night stays. Rates include cost of products, inventory, capital repairs & replacements. Moreover, please ensure Laundry Appliances and Equipment are repaired too. What use is it to offer service when equipment is INOPERABLE? Plus, the Front Desk needs to stay stocked with change and, or install a coin change machine to avoid Guest/Clients being forced to go over to convenience mart to ask for change to use Hotel amenities. Lastly, Hotel Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff requires retraining on cleaning standards and procedures. Smelly Odors and seeing dust, crude, smears and residue on entry doors, floors, furnishings, elevator doors/buttons, countertops and door handles is unsanitary and unhealthy. I observed Staff more engaged with their cell phones and roaming around than applying details to their duty to ensure an outstanding and excellent standard of cleaning.
