BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU HAVE A SERVICE DOG!
We arrived here to check in with a reservation after a long 6 hour drive from Phoenix, AZ at 10pm. Upon arrival I was rudely greeted with a request to provide documentation for my service dog or I would not be accommodated. (I clearly wrote "SERVICE DOG" in the notes when I booked days in advance) She told me they require people to show a certification or DOCTORS NOTE, which is illegal. She proceeded to continuously argue with me about the laws like I don't know them. This women was unbelievably rude. Requiring someone to show proof of a service dog with a certification or doctor's note is illegal. You can ask two questions only, which I gladly would have provided the answers to. I do not walk around with a doctors note for my service dog as #1. It's illegal to require it and #2. 99% of people and businesses are pleasant and welcoming, this motel is in that 1%. I've attached a screenshot of what you can and can't ask/do/require straight from the Americans with disabilities website - ADA.GOV
The service we were provided here was some of the worst I have ever experienced regarding my perfectly behaved service dog who stood by me and patiently waited to go to our room after a long day. The customer service here is unacceptable and you'd be better off booking somewhere else. Im honestly surprised this place has any good reviews after the interaction I had with the staff here, but according to some other reviews I am not the only one who has been treated like this.
Needless to say she canceled my reservation and only provided me proof of receipt of said cancelation when I asked for it like after the experiance I just had I would put any trust into this place. Which honestly thank goodness because I would never want to give business to a place who treats their guests like this.
Myself, my husband and my 10 year old service dog, exhausted at this point, loaded back up and headed 13 minutes down the street to the LA QUINTA who warmly welcomed us with smiles, absolutely no hassle, and amazing service from everyone we encountered. Highly recommend giving your business to people who treat you with respect like...
Read moreWell, this morning, I was told that we needed to leave this establishment because of our service dogs. I was greeted by the manager Emily that before I even walked in the door, she started throwing attitude and ignorance to me. I asked to speak with a manager, she said hey that’s not gonna happen. Not only was I treated very rudely by Emily. There was another skinny very old crypt keeper lady that wanted to patronize me and tell me what service dogs do and how they act and what my dogs were doing. That is wrong when they weren’t around my dogs at all didn’t see my dogs or even come in contact with my dogs Along with that there is a truck station next-door that has a whole bunch of lot lizards hanging around, walking around and doing drugs outside the back of our hotel room very unsafe made my wife very uncomfortable not only me and my wife complained about this the night before but then we get asked to leave the following morning. We are mainly asked to leave because the dogs were barking and they said they had it on camera, which I asked to see which I was not shown that our dogs were barking at all cause they don’t do that. On top of it they acquisitions that are dogs were barking when we were inside the room, which that would never be a case unless we were having a medical emergency. Very rude staff I think they should understand that they are in a hospitality field and treating customer should be their number one concern, and if there was an issue with anything of any problem that you know a friendly warning would’ve been you know offered first, but this place doesn’t understand what hospitality is. I spoke with the owner and they had no remorse on anything that we told them no apology just told that we were on the do not rent list and we were not allowed to return and no worries. We won’t be back. For all Best westerns this place, definitely leaves a damper on your image of a quaint nice...
Read moreThe Best Western Pine Tree Motel is an overall okay option for a short stay, offering a mix of positives and negatives based on my experience. The rooms are quite spacious for the price, and our 2-queen room included a balcony, which was a pleasant feature. However, the heating in the room was inadequate. The window unit provided didn’t heat the space effectively, leaving the room uncomfortably cold, especially during cooler weather.
The motel’s complimentary breakfast was one of its stronger points. While the hot food options were somewhat limited, there was a good variety of choices overall. I particularly appreciated the inclusion of healthier items like probiotic yogurt and better-quality cereal, which added a nice touch to the breakfast experience.
There are a few practical drawbacks to consider. The property does not have gated parking, which might be a concern for some travelers. Additionally, there are no elevators, so carrying luggage to the second floor can be inconvenient. Poor outdoor lighting was another issue that stood out, making some areas feel less safe and welcoming. The bathrooms, while functional, felt outdated with low tubs that could benefit from a renovation.
On a more positive note, the front desk staff were polite and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. There is also a small business nook with printing and computer access, which could be useful for guests needing a quick workspace.
Overall, I would recommend this motel for a short stay if you’re looking for an affordable option and don’t mind some of the compromises in comfort and amenities. The spacious rooms, decent breakfast, and courteous staff make it a reasonable choice, but it might not be ideal for longer stays or those seeking a more updated and...
