So, my husband and I are die hard Comfort Inn/Quality Inn/Clarion Inn fans - and we had stayed in this hotel about a year ago. To say this was disappointing (and a little disturbing) is an understatement. Unclean it is really is substandard at best. The hallways did not see a vacuum (or it isn't working properly) over my entire stay (of 2 days). The hallway carpet had pieces of it missing, and the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the hallway as well. Lighting left something to be desired and I was put at the end of a dark hall. I was put in Room 123 first. Wow, just wow (and not in a good way). There was a black mildew in the toilet boil (obviously had not been cleaned in weeks). It had not been vacuumed and the microwave was lopsided (looked like the feet had been stolen off one end). It had an odor, not sure exactly what it was - perhaps the mold in the toilet bowl? It was sensory overload (all the noticeable issues) that I called corporate. They told me it would take time to refund my money (didn't say how long), and that they could book me in the Clarion Inn (next door), but I would have to pay for that immediately - (no transfer of reservation) and that they wanted me to talk to the front desk. I was concerned about not getting a refund on the room and then paying for another room (had issues like that happen in the past with another hotel chain, so I was unwilling to take that chance). I called the front desk and I was offered another room (across the hall) - room 124. This room was a bit better (I accepted it because by now it was late and I didn't want to have to pay twice for this weekend without assurances that I would be fully refunded). This room had mold stains on the ceiling and it also had an odor (though, not as offensive as the first room). Room # 2 had the slowest flushing toilet ever to a point where I thought I was going to have to call front desk again. Due to travelling alone - it being late - and my being exhausted (from a full days activities) - I made the best of it. There was another gentleman also being re-assigned a room last night at the same time as I called the front desk (on the first floor) and I overheard him comment to someone he was talking to on his phone. ||||I would not recommend this hotel to solo female travelers. I really felt uncomfortable here.||I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values cleanliness. They really need to have quality control - or a "mystery guest" who can assess their level of service/care. It was lacking.||I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who expects dated to be at least maintained. Mold, stained ceilings, missing pieces of carpet, and peeling wallpaper. ||||I realize this is a 2 star hotel - so I did not go into this expecting a Marriott. I do manage my expectations! However, the quality at the Quality Inn has gone down hill markedly. Here's another thing I noticed. During the day the parking lot was EMPTY while the nearby hotels (better quality I would suspect) had semi full parking lots this was not the case with the Quality Inn (I notice things like that). That speaks volumes to me. This is a transient hotel - and not a place you'd want to stay for anything than a desperate 1 night on the road.||Even the parking lot - was full of potholes, and wasn't maintained... (I should have heeded the red flags).||Live n' learn I guess. It's been a year since my last stay here and it SHOWS.||If you want cheap, don't care where you stay and just want a bed - this will suffice. If you want Quality - go to the...
Read moreWell let's see,I reserved a room on the app and hr before our arrival, we requested a king bed non smoking, after I reserved it like I always do i called the hotel to make sure it went thru,I get a lady named Savannah who literally sounded like us coming there was going to disturb whatever she was doing and we were a total inconvenience. So we arrive an hr later only to be met by said woman who throws her hands up in the air and starts off with well I am locked out of.my.system.it may take me up to an hour to get back in it to register you in a room or I can call over to Clarion and jist send you there for a room. Well she calls Clarion and her friend who works there gives her a different log in and password to get on the site to do her job(which didn't make much sense to me because I wasn't staying at the Clarion. Then I have to hear her complain that she had one day of training for the overnight shifts and she called her manager and got screamed at for calling her at midnight to ask for help ,then she complained she was starving after I asked about local food places that may be open she took it upon herself to ask me.if I wpuld grab her a deluxe cravings box for 7.99 she wpuld be ever so grateful.Sp now she leads my wife into room 205 while I go get food and my wife calls me.and says it is a 2 twin bed room and Savannah suggested we push the beds together?? I said you go back down there and let her know that isn't acceptable and we want a king room as we requested. I apparently had to use my money to pay for her food as well because I brought it back and she said oh thanks and never even offered to pay me back. Then she tried running my card and said it was declined twice and I said impossible and I brought my account up on my phone and showed her so she put it as cash and then she took me up to room 211 with the words of well let's go see if anyone's in there and she knocked once and unlocked the door?!?!?! Apparently while I was grabbing food she did go in a room with my wife lugging her bags that someone was in and asleep ?!?!?! So then after we finally got in our room which was room 211, we noticed it smelled a little like smoke we were like ok I am gonna over look this but we will let them know at the desk in the am upon check out. The shower was dirty the bathroom was just gross period, so we get up and we go to check out and get a receipt for me to be reimbursed by my boss and we are told we can't have one until we pay?!?!?!!? I said ah no i ain't paying a second time we gave her cash when she couldn't get my.card to work.. and this lady this morning then proceeds to inform us about how when she got there Savannah was out having a butt talking about walking out,and how there were like 15 rooms rented and Noone was in the computer so Noone knew who anyone was etc,and then breakfast wasn't right cause Savannah didn't set it up right or prep right.so now we are out 145 bucks because I can't be reimbursed for the room without a receipt and she was handed cash and I had to buy her dinner, and be aggravated by being swapped around room to room and embarrassed by my wife having to see people freak out because there door was opened when they were sleeping?!?! And you wanna know how my stay was?!?!? What i expect is a receipt emailed to me for the money I paid for this room so I can be reimbursed and I want the choice app to add points for a total inconvenience and for the aggravation of staying in this hotel.. so a phone call from someone would be appreciated...
Read moreI have given a better star rating than this establishment deserves solely bc the staff we did encounter was very pleasant and helpful in the ways they could. It is clear from the moment you pull up to the hotel that it is an old, shabby building in need of serious repair. How this hotel passes it’s inspections are frankly beyond me. The housekeeping flaws were not the worst I’ve seen in my years of hotel work. The maintenance however was quite terrible. To start, our room when we got here has old, stained wallpaper with every cut seem pulling away from where it should be stuck. The ceilings are also stained. The air conditioner rattles very loudly, and leaks onto the floor. The carpets very badly need to be shampooed. There isn’t enough hot water in the showers at least, to go around when there’s a full house. (The sink was absolutely fine though) The vent in the bathroom runs, but definitely does not do as it should so the bathroom door really needs to be open when showering. There were several broken tiles in the bathroom so we kept towels down to save our feet. The worst maintenance issue was what appears to be a .22 caliber bullet hole in the window! Not repaired obviously. Not to mention the cracks in the tub floor which makes it very uneasy to be in, and the mold/mildew in the shower ceiling area from the vent not working properly. The ice machine also did not work. As for housekeeping flaws, aside from the carpets needing a wash, there was some staining on “fresh” towels when we arrived. There was only a half roll of toilet paper in the entire room. Soap scum on the shower walls, faucet, and turn on knob. We had put garbage out bc we declined housekeeping due to our dog, and it sat in the hall for a day and a half. And a dusting on lamps and such were needed. Again these are quite minimal grievances compared to maintenance. It is quite clear the owner of this establishment cares very little for...
