We were looking something to eat for lunch on our way to Alexandria Bay and to be honest we didn’t looking for this specific place so my husband drove around the parking lot and we saw at first we read the sign said “a taste of the carribean” but then we read the sign on the window near the entrance door said “authentic Puerto Rican” we just got back a month ago from PR trip and of course we still remember our experience when we were there. So without thinking twice we said “let’s go in”. This place seems like sort of cafeteria style to my eyes. Placed our order with the two young lady behind the line, paid and sit down then they brought the food to our table. Hubby got his favorite Cuban sandwich, he said this dish barely has the roll/bread and loaded more to meats instead (he wasn’t complaining he was just thrilled). Mine was arroz con gandules with pollo guisado and was delicious meals. Too bad this only one time things for us to eat here but we were just glad to found this corner hidden gems to eat rather than eat subway or Arby’s. If we ever be around the area again for the future at least we know where to find foods that feels...
Read moreUpdated review! I ordered the mofongo again but this time it came with Puerto Rican style chicken broth! It definitely made it better but this time there wasn’t any of the spice topping like before. I much prefer the broth over the topping so I’m ok with that. They also had music playing and some Christmas decor as well. Service was perfect and I’m not sure if they made the changes on their own or saw the review I made but I am very impressed. I also got pistachio and Coquito flan that were very nice, but they have a lot of other treats available. I did wait 15 minutes for my order BUT I am ok with the wait for this proper meal.
The place is instagram pretty but would definitely be better with some music. My Puerto Rican grandmother requested Mofongo so I ordered her the pork kind and an original flan. The mofongo had good flavor but was tough and definitely needed broth. Just a bit of pork or chicken broth would have made it better, but it was still very good. My grandma has not tried her flan yet so I don’t have anything to say on...

Today was my first time. I found them by driving South on I-81 looking for a place to eat lunch on Google Maps. The high rating convinced me to stop and try it.
Does La Bamba Cuisine deserve a 4.9 rating? No, it deserves a full 5 star rating.
Excellent food, explained well by the owner and chef. The shredded pork and yellow rice are beyond excellent and amazingly delicious. The pork melts in your mouth with a beautiful assortment of flavors satisfying your taste buds.
The Beef Empanada is equally delicious with the perfectly made and cooked shell to the delicious filling.
The only issue with La Bamba Cuisine is I live hundreds of miles away. Thankfully I travel for work and I’ll be able to make return trips into this fine establishment.
Well done La Bamba Cuisine. Well done indeed. Thank you for doing what you do to make this restaurant stand out...
