A Kingston Bed and Breakfast — Hotel in City of Kingston

We stayed only one night after a trip to Lake George, NY. The exterior of the house looked horrible - repair work being done. The interior was very nice, bathroom recently updated, room was nice. What we DIDN'T like: upon check in, there were no refreshments offered (I was dying for a coffee), only a warm bottle of bad tasting water in the room; the TV in the room was the size of a computer monitor, the bed squeaked horribly, no trash can in room; we don't care for sitting with strangers at the same table for breakfast-but this is a common B&B trait, we were there early but couldn't check in-we were tired, but had to walk the town and find something to do until check in, even though I had called to see if we could arrive early. What we DID like: breakfast was very, very nice, things were very clean. We have gotten a lot more amenities for less $$...

My wife and I love old Victorian homes and the B @ B concept. Our fall weekend at the Kingston B & B exceeded our expectations. Elizia provided the home base for our journey. This lively host informed us knowingly of experiences to be enjoyed. ||||Kingston, a gem of a city undergoing restoration, provided both a menu of activities, from walking tours to train rides through the countryside, and a base from which to experience regional adventures such as West Point and the Bridge Across the Hudson.||||We often travel north through the magnificent Hudson Valley to New Hampshire and Vermont. A return visit to this perfect bed & breakfast was just as good as the first over a year ago, with the woman who was then my girlfriend and now my wife. Indeed, an indication of how fond we are of this place is the fact that we chose to spend the very first night of our honeymoon there. This beautiful, quiet, accommodating, and comfortable place to stay is very reasonably priced and generous in its arrangements. Other users are urged to disregard the grumpy old bat who posted a review yesterday. Her entitlement and bad attitude give all bed & breakfast clients a bad name.
