My now husband and I contacted Rosemary to book an elopement package. From the first time we walked in to discuss our plans and to the time we checked out, the whole process was flawless. Rosemary made our special day, which typically is always full of anxiety and last minute “did we do this” relaxing and carefree. My bridesmaids were surprised I wasn’t tightly wound. That was all thanks to Rosemary. She had the cake situated, bouquet and boutonnière ready, etc, she asked us a bunch of questions that just made everything go smoothly. We also got to spend two night there and it was nice to be able to just relax. In the morning she made us breakfast and the patience and precision she takes to prepare the food is astounding. Even if you are just looking for a historic place to spend a few nights, relax, and walk the gardens, I highly recommend. Read moreMy four day stay at The Ellwanger Estate with the fabulous Host, Rosemary Janofsky, Innkeeper/Owner was beyond my expectations. Every detail from the greetings online, at the door upon arrival, and the tour of the house made me feel welcome. The pristine bedding and bed were perfect for a restful night after a busy day! I can't forget to mention the home and room's fine antiques, and art reminded me to think about Rochester's history. The wall murals in the bedroom I stayed in made me feel like I was in Scotland. Each morning the breakfasts were unique and outstanding with fruit plate to start, a tasty prepared main course and baked good or a simpler breakfast could be presented. I also truly loved seeing the wildlife greeting me when I arrived or departed; rabbits, a doe and a buck and a groundhog. The garden was delightful to stroll in the morning before leaving for the day. I...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying in such a elegant home. I felt more like a house guest of a long time friend. So much more than a hotel stay. With beautiful gardens to roam and elegant bed rooms with sitting areas. We stayed here for a weekend to go to a Harley School reunion. I sat in the evening on a beautiful porch enjoying tea and it felt like being in a far off vacation place. But I was close to downtown Rochester and you would never know except the for the cars on the street going by like a far off river. I will always plan to stay here when visiting Rochester. Did I forget to mention the fresh morning coffee and three course breakfast with Rosemary’s own chicken eggs from chickens living on the estate. I will now look for bed and breakfasts stays for all my upcoming trips. A hotel is so sterile...
