Tru by Hilton Clearfield Hill Air Force Base — Hotel in Clearfield

When I booked my Tru hotel stay, I'm 100% sure I clicked and booked the Ogden location. There must have been a glitch in the Hilton system as I come to find out this happened to another person who checked in at the same time as me.

I ended up at the Clearfield location and found out that I was at the wrong hotel because I specifically picked the Ogden location because it has an indoor pool. I spoke with the front desk attendant and she told me that since I had already checked in and have already been in the room that she can't refund or cancel my stay. Feeling flustered because I booked the hotel specifically for the pool for my kids, I ended up calling Hilton's 800 number. I spoke to a rep and explained the situation and told her that I think there was a system glitch because it literally happened to another family who had checked in at the same time as us. There wasn't much that they could do and said that I needed to speak with the hotel's front desk (that in itself was infuriating to me). The Hilton rep stayed on the phone with me as I spoke to the front desk... I even offered to pay for 1 night since I had already checked into the room, but I asked to have the other 2 nights canceled. Lucky for me, a manager happened to walk up and literally waived everything and didn't charge me for the 1 night. The Hilton rep helped me re-book my room at the Ogden location and all was well. I'm mainly writing this to let you know that the level of customer service I experienced with this Tru Hotel location is what all customer service experiences everywhere should be like. On top of helping me cancel the room, making me cry with joy.... they gave my sons toy vehicles to keep them entertained while I dealt with this! ROOM: We spent about 30 mins in the room. The rooms are clean and spacious, and I like that they have flooring rather than carpet. Their restrooms comes with good smelling soaps and lotions and I like that it's not in the small individual bottles. COMMON AREAS: The hotel lobby and common areas have a pool table, games, and lots of comfy seating to work, socialize or read. Everything is clean and modern. They also have a small market in the lobby at the front desk that has more snack, drink, food and ice cream options than your average hotel mini mart. LOCATION: It's in btwn Ogden & Layton... pretty much on the base... lots of military ppl checked in there. Not...

We were looking for a hotel to host a demonstration for a work event and had called several places with little success—until we reached Tru by Hilton, Clearfield Hill AFB. From the moment I spoke with Stephanie, I knew we were in good hands. She was incredibly courteous, helpful, and efficient. I explained our needs, and she quickly found the perfect setup for us. Not only did she beat competitor prices, but she also made the entire process seamless.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly and welcoming front desk team, including Barb, who made check-in a breeze. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the coffee was fresh, and the breakfast was delicious—a great start to the day! The conference room was spacious, the Wi-Fi was reliable, and the entire hotel was well-maintained throughout our stay.

Overall, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Stephanie and the team at Tru by Hilton went above and beyond, and we will absolutely be returning for future events....

The absolute and only reason this place is getting five stars is because of Barb and Veronica. They were beyond helpful with booking adjoining rooms for my family. However, once we made it to our rooms, upon turning down one of the beds, it was absolutely filthy and we had to get new sheets, one of the new sheets brought up was dirty as well, so they had to get another one. The shower was so disgusting. I made my husband shower first and clean it before I would shower or let the kids. The housekeeping here does not do very well, but Barb and Veronica, as well as a gentleman who came that evening with the sheets are so polite that if we stay there again, it will solely be because of them. The breakfast is not the best either, would love some healthier options, even if we have to pay. Like some organic fruit, organic bananas, cleaner yogurt etc. cottage cheese. My husband and I would have gladly paid to eat cleaner...
