We booked this place due to the indoor pool, breakfast and location. We were very disappointed when we were told the pool was closed yet nothing was posted on the site or told when I had booked that the pool was closed. We mainly booked here for the pool to keep my son occupied in the down time. The breakfast was another great option for us because it helped save money and time. There was a decent selection of choices. Such as eggs, sausage patties, bagels, cereal waffles, coffee, juice, yogurt and toast. The times weren't to bad either for breakfast 630 to 930 on week days. The maids we ran into along our days here were nice but we didn't have them clean just cause we don't feel the need to have them do extra work while we stay and it's just not needed. If we needed anything we would would just ask but we didn't need anything. There was plenty of towels and t.p. in the room. As far as front desk the one guy we encountered was super nice I didn't catch his name but I think he had a nose ring and he helped my son open the back of his toy with a screw driver. He was very pleasant and up beat. Most the other people barley made eye contact or talked to us. Not rude but not interactive either. The walls are not very sound proof or should I say the hallways. That part was very annoying I must say. People were loud at night walking through the hallways and they had bus loads of people there. So that part really sucked when having a kid with you trying to sleep and you have loud people in the hallways and can hear everything. The beds are comfy we slept good on the beds I will say that and the fridge worked great for our food as did the microwave to reheat my sons food. Getting out to drive places can be a bit tricky if your not used to fast traffic. Showers took a bit for the hot water to fully kick in but it hot and water pressure is ok. On our last day we had a leak from upstairs but we called maintenance and they came down later on to check it out but we left that day. All in all it was a ok. You can hear noise so if you want a very quiet room this isn't it, you are going to hear people in the hallways, we were on bottom floor we could hear people above us, and whatever the noise was outside. We had no view just a wall when we opened our window. So check to see if pool is open and maybe ask for a room at the top. Like I said wasn't bad just don't expect...
Read moreThe ONLY reason I gave this hotel 1 star is because they won't let you rate it any lower. I made the reservation online, at which time I noticed that they had ADA approved handicap accessible bathrooms. This feature was extremely important since I was staying with my elderly parents who need some of these features. I therefore requested this type of room when I made the reservation. However, when we arrived, we were told that this type of room was not available. When I asked why I wasn't notified of this when the reservation was confirmed, they stated that they had no control of reservations made online. I then asked if we could have adjoining rooms so that it would be easier for me to assist them, I was told that since it was too early to check in, they would hold 2 adjoining rooms for our stay and would have them available for us when we could check in later in the day. Unfortunately, after returning several hours later to check in, we were told they had no adjoining rooms saved for us and they doubted that the person I spoke with in the morning even offered that to me. To make matters worse, my elderly parents and I had our luggage with us in the lobby, but were told it would be easier for us to walk back outside with our luggage and drive around to the back of the building and enter at a location that was closer to our rooms. I asked if there were handicap parking spaces in that area & was told that there were. We therefore walked back outside, put our luggage back in the car, and proceeded to drive around to the back of the building. Unfortunately, there were no handicap parking spaces...other than in the area we had just left. We then drove back to the original parking location and walked back into the entrance. We finally arrived at our rooms, only to find that the original rooms we had booked (king sized beds) had somehow been switched to 2 full sized beds. They weren't able to accommodate any of our requests, but were able to switch the type of room we booked. We were here attending a funeral, and this EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING AND TERRIBLY POOR SERVICE only made a very stressful situation more stressful. I doubt that I would ever stay at this, or ANY OTHER, La Quinta Inn ever again and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. OVERPRICED &...
Read moreI strongly discourage anyone from selecting this hotel due to several significant issues we encountered during our stay.
1.Theft:Our experience was overshadowed by a substantial incident of theft. Despite entrusting the staff with valuable gifts worth over $500 USD, they claimed to have lost them. The offered refund of a mere $100 USD was insufficient, and when we contested the matter, they threatened eviction, despite our prepayment. Shockingly, a cleaning staff member later revealed that our gifts had been stolen, and the hotel deliberately withheld this information.
Violence:The hotel displayed a shocking lack of response to a violent incident on New Year's Eve. Despite multiple calls reporting a physical altercation in the neighboring room, no action was taken, and the hotel failed to involve the authorities.
No Free Shuttle:The hotel falsely advertised a free shuttle service to NYC on its website, a pivotal factor in our decision to book. This claim turned out to be entirely untrue, leaving us to find alternative transportation options at an additional cost.
Opened Door:Our room was left open by room service on one occasion, compromising our security and privacy. Additionally, we were initially assigned a room with a malfunctioning fridge, necessitating a room change on the first night.
Location:Lastly, the hotel's location proved inconvenient for those intending to visit NYC. The advertised proximity to the city was misleading, as using public transportation took an hour to reach the destination. Choosing this hotel meant an additional cost of $12 per person just to get to the Port Authority Bus Station, making it a suboptimal choice compared to staying in NYC itself.
In summary, our experience was marred by theft, violence, false advertising, security lapses, and an inconvenient location, making this hotel an unfortunate choice for...
