I’ll start with the positive. Patricia was pleasant, professional, and informative when I initially came into the store. She answered many of my questions and educated me on the variety of mattresses they sell.
After 30-40 minutes of trying different mattresses and learning about the options available, Ruben, the Sales Manager, starts showing attitude and irritation. He starts making snarky comments like: “We’ve never had a customer ask so many questions. She charges $20 / hour for all those questions” and stuff like “they’re all the same thing. Few hundred dollars here and there, it’s the same stuff underneath” etc.. seemingly right after I decided to try a low-end / cheaper mattress to feel the difference from the others. Maybe he felt that they had “wasted” their time on a customer who might not spend a couple thousand bucks.
After I sensed the irritation, I said I don’t mean to take up your time or be annoying (jokingly), he proceeds to say “you didn’t think coming in here and asking all these questions would be annoying?” I guess they expect easy sales here and aren’t used to customers who like to spend time getting educated properly. He continued talking like a sleazy car salesman “it’s all about the $$$” etc. and seemingly said other condescending statements that I didn’t even understand.
As I was leaving, he kept trying to offer me a “deal” on a mattress that I did express interest in. However, he was objection handling me on price but I was still in the phase of getting educated on how it compares to the other mattresses.
I told him I can’t buy today because I need to do more homework and get some information. To which he said “what do you mean, we have all the information right here” …. how IRONIC. He just made snarky comments and gave me attitude 2 minutes ago because I was asking “too many questions.”
You would think after investing 30-40 minutes with a customer, you would at least continue to be polite and not make condescending comments. There are politer ways of exiting a customer interaction as a salesperson if you feel your time is best suited elsewhere. A simple “feel free to try stuff around and let me know if you want to potentially move forward with one”… This is not the 80s anymore where aggressive, sleazy sales tactics wins business. Customers want a salesperson who aren’t just transactional, but can be a trusted advisors to educate and...
Read moreThe staff at the store and the delivery men were extremely nice and friendly. However, the delivery men accidentally broke my front door knob. I called the store and told them what happened they were very prompt in getting back to me with a promise of resolving the issue within 48 hours. That was 4 days ago still no resolution.
it is now one week later, and still no resolution on the broken door knob despite promises from Ruben that it would be taken care of promptly. Called several times was promised a call back and didn't receive it. Ruben said he was the manager the first time I spoke to him is now claiming he is just a salesman. He originally said he would give me $100 off my purchase to resolve the issue now he is offering me $25 for a new door knob. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE AGAIN! It is now three weeks later and still no resolution on the broken door knob. I even called Mattress Firm headquarters in Texas and got no response. This company has the worst customer service! My advice is don't buy anything from Mattress Firm and if you do make sure you watch the delivery guys like a hawk and don't let them leave if they damage your property until it is resolved.
I got my resolution tonight in the form of a pillow! Not two pillows one pillow for all of the aggravation. I stand by my earlier statement I will never purchase anything from Mattress Firm again This supposed $40 memory foam pillow that they gave me sucks I wouldn't pay $10 for it!
I forgot to mention that when I went to the store to get my $40 pillow, Ruben, the same guy that said he was manager then said he was only a Salesman then said he was manager again, told me he had emails to prove to me that he's been trying to take care of this problem yet he could not find one of those emails to pull up and show me. This whole experience has been negative. Don't shop at...
Read moreSorry it was a HORRIBLE experience. I went there last Sunday as first time buying new mattress. Since I fail two times with buying new mattresses from online, I had high hope buying in the physical store. Not sure it is because I read the review before I walked in(which was so nice), it was such a disappointment.
Nobody was greeting first of all. And the female sales representative was informative but seemed like didn't want to explain more after I shared with her my budget. I had more questions but she kept leaving and didn't want to engage. She was bad mouthing cheap mattresses and implied why I don't want to get more expensive one. After she did such a haste explanation, she didn't even bother to come back to explain more although there was nobody there. I felt very let down since I want to cheaper side mattress(the only reason I didn't want to invest expensive one yet was because I didn't want to get disappointment again as I experienced buying horrible mattresses past two times prior to it . Her action makes me wonder why they even have those products in the store and they only treat people nicely who spend bigger $$$.
Please don't go to the place. Several friends of mine went to Mattress firm stores, this is totally unheard of. If you want to go mattress firm store, DON'T GO THIS LOCATION. YOU WILL BE TREATED HORRIBLE, IF YOU DON'T BRING ENOUGH $ to them. They discriminate and left me with such a horrible taste in my mouth. No empathy , no compassion. Horrible!!! Never...
