This was absolutely the place I needed to be! This is an incredibly charming, warm, and peaceful space. I needed to get away last weekend and wanted to be near Crowders Mountain to hike. I do not like hotels, and I found this very affordable b and b. The house itself is so delicately and thoughtfully decorated. I stayed in a room that had a "tree" theme which could not have been more perfect, as I adore trees. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom is shared, which is fine with me. Everything was so clean. The common areas were beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfasts were AMAZING! You could smell what she was cooking float throughout the home, not to mention the smell of coffee starting around 6:00 AM for guests that rise early like myself. Probably my most favorite part was the outside backyard. It is like being in a paradise of a garden. My dog/my best friend just loved being out there, and I enjoyed having a beverage and reading my book underneath the big, beautiful trees. The b and b is in a perfect location to walk to downtown Clover. There are a few options for dining, a bottle shop called The Vault, which I frequented, and some darling other little shops. It isn't walking distance necessarily (but a short 2-3 minute drive) but please check out the restaurant named Clover Harvest. It was delicious, and I had actually met one of the chefs, Lindsay, at the bottle shop the night before I ate there. The owner of the bed and breakfast is very welcoming, friendly, and really goes above and beyond to offer her guests a wonderful experience. Upon arrival you are offered a beer, wine, or soda! I will...

We were exploring the history of GA/SC and traveling from Atlanta back to our home in Coastal NC when we chose to stay at this historic B & B. It is in a quiet small town about 30 minutes or so south outside of Charlotte offering a quiet retreat. Offering a great alternative to the chain hotels. Laura is a great host and warmly welcomes you to this historically decorated home. We were the only guests the one night we stayed. Some heads up on the house arrangements: ||1) there are are four bedrooms upstairs with one bathroom. So, I would wonder how this would be arranged if all rooms were occupied. It seems Laura takes this into account, thought. There is another bathroom downstairs....for guests to use, if needed. ||2) no TV's in any room. A good way of cutting the cord... ||3) wi-fi --- don't forget to ask for the password and it's not too fast.. We have the same service at home. So, not too surprised here. ||4) The shared bathroom could be a deal breaker for some and one can ask about other guests during your stay to be sure. We didn't and lucked out. ||||The town doesn't have many restaurants and expect them to closed around 9:00 p.m.. There is wonderful Mexican restaurant- El Mexicano within walking distances to the B & B. You can also walk a short distance to the small downtown as this lovely B & B is just a couple blocks a way. ||||We would recommend this as stop over during your travels or if you are visiting the area. Check it out as you will not be disappointed. They are also...

We came just on a whim last minute trip and fell in love with Magnolia House and with Clover! Laura is incredibly nice and funny, and treated us immediately like family. The house is over 100 years old and has lots of character. Beautiful hard wood floors and wonderfully decorated with enough modern touches that it is functional without taking away from the old charm. My wife especially liked how Laura decorated the house. The garden is really nice and spacious, I could easily see a party or a wedding there. We came after peak season, but it is a certified wildlife sanctuary so its natural but well kept. Breakfasts were wonderful every day and really was a terrific way to start our day, talking with other guests and getting to know people. Very close to downtown Clover which is up and coming with new restaurants and bars that just started and are darn good places for not a lot of $$. We ended up just meeting people here and made friends really quickly even though we were here for a short time. Convient to lots of places like Kings Mountain and other places like York and Rock Hill. Can not give this place a higher recommendation we loved ourstay. Will definitely...

My wife and I stayed at Magnolia House on March 20th, 2021 and we had an excellent stay. Laura is an awesome hostess and wonderfully welcoming. She makes you feel like family. We loved being greeted immediately by her dog named "Eight-ball" too! She is so sweet and loving. The house built circa 1890 has strong bones, comfortably appointed and is kept very clean. Lots of towels are provided. Access in an out is easy as well. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. She has fruit and snacks available to guests and serves coffee and tea too. Although it was early spring, the backyard grounds are lovely and have a wonderful variety of plants. We are looking forward to returning when everything is in full bloom. We highly recommend the Magnolia House on your next visit to Clover, SC. While you are there, check out the local tap house (The Vault) for some excellent libations as well. Great beer on tap and live music on Friday nights and sometimes Saturday too.

Laura is a shining gem of hospitality! I was the only guest at the bed & breakfast the night of my stay. Laura was very accommodating with my uncertain schedule. I checked in late and didn't have a chance to experience the house in its full glory until the next morning. Being the only guest, I had the shared bathroom all to myself. It was there that I noticed vintage lifestyle magazines. I was captivated by their content and late for the 8:30 breakfast because of it. Laura is what makes this place shine. Breakfast was delicious and felt like the level of hospitality you can only get at high-class places, but had the familiarity of conversation with a new friend. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the house and gardens, but I needed to get back on the road. Ever since I left, I've been trying to find an excuse to return and enjoy this property again. A wonderful stay, one you won't regret if you want elevated, simple pleasures.
