El Mexicano — Restaurant in Clover

Very disappointed in their service. My husband and I went there tonight for dinner. We were seated right away, handed menus and chips and were then ignored. We waited more than 10 minutes for someone to come and ask us what we wanted to drink before we finally just got up and walked out! We would have been more understanding except after 5 minutes a waitress walked by and asked if we had been helped; when I said no, she said, "Oh, I'll be right with you," and then she promptly forgot as she walked past us several more times to ask other people (who came in after us) what they wanted. The manager stood with his hands in his pockets for most of the time doing nothing. The final straw was when the hostess walked by us on the way to fill up her own drink and then went back to stand against the wall drinking it while waiting for more customers to come in. I get that restaurants are busy on a Saturday night (I've worked in many during my life), but for people who work there (especially a manager) to be standing around doing nothing and can't even be bothered to take a drink order, is unacceptable! We left and went to On the Boarder in Gastonia. (It was even busier there, but they at least took our drink orders in less than 10 minutes -- actually we got our drinks in less...

Okay originally I gave 5 stars but today I'll never go back. Thank God for El preferidos, wish we had just gone there instead

Service is beyond bad staff just doesn't care. They were not busy at all and we came in waited a good while finally got seated.

Order was wrong she acknowledged she had told the cook correct yet served it wrong then ask if there was anything we could do as I scraped the sour cream off my food.

Then upon leaving we stood at the check out for about the same amount of time we waited on food w a group standing in the door as well waiting to be seated . Finally a worker sees us walks over to the register grabs a stack of menus ignores us.. and walks off. A few min later another worker comes grabs something says nothing. So I walk out leaving my husband to pay. Which if it had just been me ild of just left. Their loss.

It's absurd to be fully ignored, especially when we come in ofton and tip well. So to ya'll, we won't be returning and come fall when our" big" group comes 2x a week we will be going to the other place. Rarely if ever have I changed a review. And 2⭐ stars is nice and only bc my husband...

We've been here a few times mainly because in York/Clover you really don't have many places to choice from, but after today I know I will never go back! We went today for lunch and I ordered the lunch Chicken Enchilada which was only 6 dollars, great price but I asked if I could have the white cheese sauce instead of the red sauce and the waiter said yes. When we finally got our food my food was ok other than the Enchilada had hardly any chicken in it and it had very little white sauce on it but since it was only 6 dollars I wasn't going to complain. However, when our check came and I saw where I was being charged 3.99 for the white sauce, What? What the heck? I said something to the waiter but of course he don't understand me... He should had told me that he would have to charge me 3.99 for white sauce so that way I would had known about the charge. I actually would had changed my order..... My parents had similar problem with their bill but I'm not going to go there other than their lunch ended up costing them 31 dollars!!! What? For 2 people! Never will I...
