Honestly the place isn't bad, it's also not great.
There's no smoking in the building which I like alot, (keep reading) it's pretty quiet and most of the staff is awesome.
It's ran oddly, and having a hotel do room checks to make sure your room is clean is odd to me as that has never been a thing before and definitely made me feel uncomfortable and wasn't mentioned when we came here but otherwise, it's a ok place to stay.
I do like that I know bugs won't be an issue because of the room checks as I will know that the whole hotel is always clean including the rooms (we all know that not everyone is clean ppl) so all in all that's cool.
I do wish they had mentioned the whole room check thing tho cuz I have anxiety and since I never expect ppl to come to my door, so when they do, I automatically get anxiety, so it would have been nice to know lol.
moved my star rating down after being woke this morning at 8:30AM to loud talking and then loud VERY LOUD working at 8 in the morning are you kidding me! How rude! Like just had the rudest wake up call ever. Why just why? Was it really necessary to put someone in front of my window to work at 8:30 in the morning? Thank goodness I don't work night shift.
Update: I changed my rating AGAIN because we asked them to fix the stopped up bathtub because it made it impossible to clean they told me I had to clean it which is fine I did, but they never sent anyone to fix it.,
what's worse is they literally tried to accuse me of bathing my CATS and thats why it was plugged (like do you not realize its rare for cats to be willing to be in water? Like, my hands and arms would be ripped apart 🤔) AND we had only been there for 5 days ummmm no way in you know what would bathing any animal make it not drain for hrs in 5 days EVEN if i bathed them EVERYDAY.
We didn't bother trying to clean it the day we left because we showered that morning right b4 we left and we wasnt sticking around for it to drain (it literally takes it 3 hrs to drain) to clean it.
we were suppose to stay for a month but when we checked to see the next weeks cost we ended up with 3 different answers one being almost $200 more than what was quoted in the beginning.
The one lady is nice tho and the young gentleman that works/work there (we hadn't seen him except the first 2 days so idk) was amazing. So we left. There was an ink mark on the blanket so idk what that was about, and it's suppose to be non-smoking but every night there was cigarette smoke coming through the vents in the bathroom.
Then they tried to charge my husband almost $200 after we had left and kept our deposit like ummmmm WHY we ain't even there any more, we're not giving you $200 more bucks 😒 and we're not staying where they act like a boarding school. Like, did they really think ppl are gonna be okay with them just showing up one day to check your room? Not clean it, check to make sure YOU clean it.
AND apparently, they're making sure you don't know the day they're coming to check your room (Noone wants complete strangers just opening your door while they're not there to check their rooms ESPECIALLY, not even knowing you're going to do that (they just showed up one day and said "room check" Noone in the entire hotel knew it was even happening)
I am now at another hotel and I don't have to deal with room checks (which gives me anxiety from h), shady hotel behavior, or bad internet ( my new hotel has amazing internet and you don't have to pay more to have it)
this place was just taken over and you can tell that there is some power hunger from the new owners because what hotel extended stay or not does room checks and monitors ppls every move when at the hotel?
Seriously, this doesn't have to be your last choice. The place I'm at now is $325 a week, with a $35 deposit you get back when you leave. Like, there is absolutely no reason anyone has to stay here. AND we are only 5 mins down the rd from this place so if you're looking here b/c of location, i promise there are better...
Read moreI have traveled all over the country (and world), and have come to trust the Extended Stay Hotel brand. So when I needed to book a few days at a hotel close to my work site, I chose the Extended Stay hotel on Chestnut St in Colorado Springs, CO. I spent 2 nights for a total of $185.58. I’ll start with the pro’s - the sheets seemed clean, no visible bugs or vermin in the room, A/C worked great, shower tub seemed clean, shower water was warm enough (but not hot), sink in kitchenette worked fine, toilet flushed fine, and it was in close proximity to major roads and eateries. Otherwise, the experience was an absolute nightmare. It started with the desk clerk who told me to wait 10 min at front desk before checking in for him to finish his cigarette break - that was in front of the entrance door with several non-smoking and smoke-free hotel signs. Once checked in, the door to my room wouldn’t open or close without kicking it. It was the smallest Extended Stay room I have ever been in. I used the restroom where the sink was clogged with water that never went down the entire stay (I had to use the kitchenette sink), missing shower curtain, and no toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, Kleenex box, etc. Only two washcloths, two towels, and one bar of soap. I used the shower and got water everywhere due to no shower curtain. I used one towel for the floor so I wouldn’t slip and fall, and the other to dry myself. The towels had hair all over them, getting someone’s else’s hair all over my body, which was so disgusting. Kitchenette had no paper towels, plates, cups, silverware, cooking ware, or coffee maker, thus useless. Floors were dirty and had something smeared (I pray it was chocolate) all around, drawers on the cabinet wouldn’t shut so I would hit my leg when going to the desk or scrape my arm when getting up from it. During the day, it was relatively quiet while I studied, with the exception of the fire alarms going off from time to time, which I learned to ignore (seems someone was just pulling them for fun). The two nights I spent there were completely sleepless. The hallways became very active at night with stomping, running, yelling, dogs whining and barking, etc. Around midnight, I could hear someone walking the hallways checking doors - my door handle clicked and someone was try to push on the door, then I would hear it on the next door, etc. There was knocking on my door past 1 am. When I went to look through the peephole, no one was visible so I did not open the door. I had the two locks on the door and I put a chair in front of the door as I was so scared someone was going to try to come into my room during the night. I was very concerned for my safety but felt I had nowhere else I could go at the last minute. There was a constant smell of weed that seeped into the room, and was very strong in the hallways (I know this is CO but still). I went to the front desk several times to discuss the issues, but no one was ever there and the phone in the room did not dial to the front desk (there was a sign that said it was for outbound calls only). Throughout my stay, I never saw an employee such as maintenance or housekeeping to report the issues to as well. It felt like there was no one there to take care of the insane asylum! When I checked out on Monday morning, the front desk was “closed” with a garage door type of thing so I slipped my key under it and left. This hotel seemed as though they don’t get a lot of traveling visitors, and appeared more like a residential living place for transient people. It was very apparent they knew I wasn’t living there, and it made me nervous the way I was being watched entering and exiting the building. I will not be staying at this establishment ever. And this experience will certainly make me think twice about ever staying at an Extended Stay Hotel again. As I said, this experience was a complete nightmare and made me fear for my safety. If I had had my children with me, I would have certainly left...
Read moreI've never had a worse lodging experience than what I encountered at Extended Stay America Select Suites on 3350 N Chestnut Street in Colorado Springs, CO. The reservation rate was completely different from what the front desk charged me upon check-in. When I explained as much to them, they adjusted my rate to what I saw in my digital reservation, which I was happy about. What they did NOT tell me was that instead of the nine nights I booked for my stay, my reservation was shortened to seven nights. When I missed this apparent due date (which was never communicated with me), I was locked out of my room the following night, which in my mind was the night before my due date. Rather than listen to me, the so-called customer relations specialist (Levi) effectively called me a liar and hung up on me midconversation, leaving my problem unresolved and no choice but to pay for nights that -- in my mind -- I had already paid for. If that wasn't bad enough, I was awoken at 10:30 that same night by police at my room door, asking to hear about my "altercation" with management. When I explained to them that a complete lack of staff/management transparency led me to an angry conversation over the phone with the manager, during which zero crimes were committed by any party, they understood and left me alone. If being harassed by police after being called a liar by someone whose job is to relate in a positive manner with hotel guests was not enough, we were subjected to a room inspection the following week wherein the standards which staff and management was hoping to see were not communicated or clarified. Without even stepping over the threshold into the room, it was determined that we were lying about the amount of pets we had (which we were never asked about upon check-in) and that there was "too much stuff" in our room. In a hotel designed for long-term stays, I don't know what constitutes "too much stuff," but I see being kicked out of this hotel as a blessing. Personally, there are some very friendly people who work here, such as CJ, Destiny, and General Manager Carla (even though Carla is partially to blame for the previously outlined miscommunications). Levi should absolutely not be allowed to work in the hospitality industry, though, as he clearly does not know the definition of the word. I have had more respectable, comfortable, and friendly overnights sleeping in my car in a truck stop parking lot than I had in my two weeks at this Extended Stay America. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy stay here. My stay was marked by opaque policies; inconsistent and poorly communicated rates; harassment and retaliation by management (we were kicked out one day after I lodged a formal complaint with their help line); and a complete disregard for the guest experience. That doesn't even cover the fact that our room was dirty and not fully cleared out before we checked in, that there is hardly ever someone at the front desk to take a question or help, and that the general attitude of management is defensiveness and "the customer is always wrong." I can take a sketchy clientele, litter-scattered grounds, and an endless barrage of poorly trained dogs. I cannot take the utter disrespect and contempt shown toward me, my wife, and our fellow guests at this sorry excuse for a hotel. I know Carla wants to turn this place around, but I cannot in good conscience give this place a good review. I've filed a complaint with the BBB, and I hope to get refunded every cent of the near $1,500.00 I spent staying at this glorified dumpster...
