After carefully researching the appropriate accommodation for our family at the Marriott Fairfield in Columbia SC. I determine basis on the need needs of my that this would be the best hotel for us. I am a currently healing from breast cancer and I have (2) year olds. It was key that we reside in a clean and safe place during our stay. I ensured that I research hotels with high standards of cleaning not only due to COVID but also due to my comprised health. During our stay we encountered several concerning of unsafe practices. After leaving several messages for the general manager Mr Bower. My contact with him was very unprofessional in the since that instead of addressing that fact that I have attempted contact with since checkin on Wednesday. He discussed that he in fact is currently on Medical leave and should not be at work. He explained that he will contact me when he is available.( he is standing at that point directly in front of me in a empty lobby). I apologized that he had to work when he should be on medical leave but his staff has disclosed to me on several attempts that he was either at lunch.l, just left and should return, off for the day. I provide my personal contact number to the staff as well for contact. He was very indigent in his response repeating that he was on medical leave and he should not be here now. I explained that I understood and requested corporate contact number. He stated that it will only come back to him. I politely requested his name. He replied I can do better I can give you my card ( he did) he also provided me the contact number to gift card and rewards not the request corporate number. When I was able to locate the correct contact number and wait one hour for a call back. After explain the situation and disclosing my personal medical history, and expressing my concern about my comprised health risk. And that we personally cleaned and sanitized the room but requested that the room be vacuum and the other concerns be addressed. I was informed by the customer service representative that there is nothing that could be done regarding our situation from Marriott. I was instructed to contact the regional manager but they could not provide the information. I would have to obtain the information from Mr. Bower but he probably would not give it to me. To the time of this post since Wednesday I have not been contact.

My daughter and I stayed for one night. Bathroom had strands of long black hair everywhere, in the towels, in the sank, and a few were found in the bed. Let’s discuss the wires that were hanging out of the compartment under the night stand that were left uncovered which was a safety hazard. Then the huge stain in the carpet, in which the carpet was nasty and looked to have not been cleaned. The worst hotel ever. We didn’t sleep in our beds and left early due to not feeling comfortable. I called the hotel and asked to speak to a manager and the foreign guy was rude, he cut me off while I was trying to explain and he gave me a customer service number that didn’t even work. Very nasty attitude and rude customer service. I wasted my points and money staying here and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here because cleanliness and professionalism is not their priority.

From the day we checked in the sink was clogged, no Kleenex, toilet was nasty ;like house keeping skipped room 207. Called to front desk to have these issues addressed and the staff said he would send someone up never did. Next day, ask again Assr. Manager came and tried to unclog the sink but couldn’t (he left the supplies he used in the room). When we told him we’ve been using the tub to brush our teeth wash hands etc. he said oh ok. Saturday night my roommate seen multiple bugs (in pic only could get one ) and when I went to the desk to ask for another room I was informed no more rooms. So, another guess we knew allowed us to sleep there for a night. When ask about total refund for my room and a discount for room 103 (where we stayed for a night) was told they couldn’t do that for either. I will be filing something with BBB as a disabled veteran. 🙁

Poorly staffed and problems that could be fixed. The pool was out of order so they were trying to send people to muvë fitness on Forest Drive for the pool if you wanted to swim which is 7 miles away! Totally unacceptable and not OK absolutely we highly suggest you go somewhere else to stay like aloft hotel or Fairfield Marriott inn and suites on Harbison Drive because they have been on live PD mini one too many times and it looks like it’s getting worse and is there still going to be on live PD. It does not make me feel good at all I’d rather see on TV then live where they are! Poor training of the staff they are very rude and disrespectful and unreliable and unknowledgeable the guy at the counter said we did not have a reservation when we did. and the TV did not work and we should not have to program remotes and fix everything else and pair devices . and you’re not being comped for the problems! Not sufficient toiletries and for the number of guests staying they only give you one bottle of shampoo one bottle of conditioner no lotion anymore no garbage bags in the trashcan very little coffee and few cups to brew with. They need to clean better especially in the bathroom there is dirt grime mole skin soap scum in the shower! Bleach can’t cover everything inside out and upside and it’s not green! The reservation was not right they gave us a king suite when we asked for two queen bed‘s and handicap accessible they really need to focus on what they click and and meeting the needs of their customers and making them feel like a home away from home . In the fold out bed do you had to literally go down to the front desk and asked for sushi and they don’t even have extra pillows for you to use and there’s no pillows for the pool and you have to request a blanket they don’t even put blankets in the hotel rooms anymore and their carts and their cars are so wobbly and hard to push they haven’t been oiled in like 20 years! And on top of that some of the people that work here are hitting on their gas flirting not OK! And there is a high turnover rate in the last six months to 12 months! There was no do you not disturb sign and were using power tools and nine in the night till about midnight and we’re making way too much racket I could barely get any sleep! In the side door does not work when you try and get back in and the phones were out you couldn’t call it wasn’t even like ringing very upset and very disappointed and out raged and they’re in violation of fire code and safety and well-being of...

I had a recent stay that I was unhappy with. I made a attempt to resolve this with management but apparently management could not be bothered to call or communicate with a top tier member. I decided to do a mini staycation to get away that evening and arrived just before the games were to come on. When I arrived although I was told I would have a upgraded room I was told that three of the suites were being worked on so I would not be accommodated. The associated checked me into a king room. When I arrived in the room I learned the television was not working. I asked the associate to have it addressed she said that the guy should be in shortly so I waited a while. The games started and I was missing the games so I went downstairs after calling several times to ask her to move my room. She told me she could not do this and that the guy should be in shortly. Shortly turned into over a hour and still not result. I kept trying to get the issue resolved with no resolution. Hours later she came to the room finally attempting to resolve the issue herself as I learned from her the guy that had the experience and knowledge to solve it came in but he had a attitude so he refused to come look at the television. Because she didn’t know what to do her attempts to fix it failed so not only did we miss all the games and a chance to relax as planned, but we were out of a television the entire stay. That evening I went down to get snacks from the bar. When I went down I told the associate to take the charge out of my incidentals hold he then told me there was no hold. I told him there was and pulled up my bank account to show him but he was combative and argued with me knowing they were having system problems so if there was a issue it was on his end. He then told me I had to pay cash knowing that I had no cash and I showed him the charge and he still was being unreasonable knowing that we already had issues with the stay he was rude and unreasonable. I tried several times to call and leave messages for the manger when I called I was hang up on by the front desk associate multiple times. The manager never called and seems unbothered that she had a unhappy guest whose stay was ruined because of her associates rude behavior and no access to basic amenities. I have been a bonvoy top tier member for years and I am highly disappointed in this stay and how it was handled. I don’t usually stay at the Fairfield Inn and this stay has made me never want to ever again. If I could give them no...
