First let me start off by saying that I only gave this hotel 1 star to tell the world about it's filthiness, not because it deserves it! This place should be out of business! If you are reading this DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! My family and I were out for the weekend doing a little shopping and hanging out in the Columbia area and decided to stay over night (we live 2 hours away). Because it was so late at night, we decided not to do anything extreme like choose a hotel that would put a dent in our pocket(we are traveling out of country in 5days& spending lots of money) but we didn't want to go cheap either so the LaQuinta was right in our sights as a 3star hotel we assumed it'd be a great in-between... We'll never do that again, we'll go expensive every time!!! We check in and the smell of smoke consumed me as we got in the elevator after being told all their rooms are non-smoking. My fiance left to grab dinner (5minutes away) and I settled in the room with the little ones. 20mins later my fiance comes back in with the food and we began eating.... Only to see ROACHES began to crawl up the wall right next to our food. It was as though they were coming out to eat with us.....then after my fiance went downstairs to get a refund for the room, more ROACHES began to come out of the headboards. I called to ask my fiance what the attendant was saying about the refund and he was denying giving it to us due to us being in the room for longer than 15mins... Seriously!!!! It's not our fault it took longer than 15 minutes for the residents living in the room we paid for to emerge literally from the woodwork to eat with us.... Absolutely disgusting. Anyways, I began to take pictures and videos of these disgusting critters crawling all over. In the midst of doing that, I see BEDBUG EGGS nasty freaking BEDBUGS in the headboard creases..... How could they not have seen those, especially if they are thoroughly cleaning as they should be??? Instantly I speed up our packing process and rush downstairs to show the attendant and demand refund. The attendant refused to contact the manager (guess it wasn't important enough) and didn't even care to come up to the room and see for himself. We were offered another room....as if the critters aren't visiting each other going room from room! I also asked the attendant if no one ever complained about their insect issue and he couldn't say yes or no, nor could he look at me straight in the face (obviously the answer was yes). He then proceeded to tell us that they spray for bed bugs every week...WHAT THE HELL??? SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT, THEY ARE AWARE OF THEIR HOTEL HAVING BEDBUGS BUT STILL ALLOW PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES TO COME SPEND THEIR MONEY AND STAY THERE risking people getting bitten and traveling bugs back to their homes..... ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! After having to contact corporate office Monday we finally got the okay on a refund and I sent the corporate office all my pictures and videos. I am begging you all, please don't stay here. I had my 1year old daughter walking and crawling around that hotel room thinking it was clean and my 10&12 year old(extremely allergic to insect bites) were all over the bed. Our clothes immediately went in bags before entering our home. There is no way I can explain the level of disgust we felt after leaving this dump! DO NOT RISK TRAVELING BEDBUGS OR ROACHES TO YOUR HOME FROM THIS DUMP. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN at least until they thoroughly exterminate, burn all sheets, mattresses and carpets! How dare they offer breakfast KNOWING they have ROACHES.....EWW!!!! I know this review was super long but I feel so heavily convicted to get our story out there and help other families..... Please check out my pictures and RUN AWAY from the LAQUINTA COLUMBIA NORTHEAST FORT JACKSON AREA!!!!!! RUN AWAY!!!!...
Read moreUpon arrival at this hotel which is around 6 o'clock I turned my heat on . Later on I noticed that the heat was not getting hot so I attempted to turn the heat up a bit. It would not get hotter so I called to the front desk and the young lady came up and attempted to try to solve the problem by resetting the heater. After many attempts she was unable to do so so I told her I would attempt to reset it myself as I have bought up a lot of luggage I was exhausted from working 12 hours seven days straight. I fell asleep in the process of trying to reset the heater . I woke up around 2 o'clock because I was cold. I attempted to reset the heat again after a failed attempt I'll call the front desk again. This time I got some young lady whose tone I found disturbing. She replied what do you want me to do what you paid five dollars for your room, 'll bring you up some blankets. I'm using my reward points that you have to stay so many nights to earn a free room. Usually it takes about 2 1/2 to get. My response was, I have sinus problems so blankets will not help me because my head will still be exposed to the air. We could move you to another room. My response is it's 2 AM in the morning and the room that she's offering is only a totally different floor. She did offer resolutions but the under tone is you only paid five dollars for your room so you should be thankful for what you get. Very disappointing don't work for your reward points if you gonna get second-class treatment when your status is Elite. I stayed at the Fort Jackson Laquinta last night and received professional friendly service from the entrance. They were booked up tonight. Attitude is essential when working in these hotels. Upon arrival here two attendants one nice the other no so, SO I spoke to...
Read moreAs a military family in trasition, twice in a 1 1/2 months, and paying customers, the experience while staying here was something we did not need. My husband is here in school and I too am a student. Dealing with children and 2 labradors is very tiresome when you're not in your own space. While dealing woth teying to fimd a place, homework, children, etc, there were constant unwanted knocks at the door, asking the same questions over and over again without a courtesy call first. Gigi was the rudest with the hard banging as if there was a fire. We were there for almost 2 weeks and each day was paid on time. I didnt quite understand their major concern that led them to bother us the way they did? So that was not good. The a/c was too high at night and too low during the day and it was out of our control. And our vehicle was robbed within view of the hotel camera and somehow, it didnt appear on camera, which was impossible, and no one saw anything. Heard several stories. The one person whose story made sense where security confronted the theif but didnt know which room the vehicle belonged to, was told to be quiet and management would handle it. I dont quite understand how no one saw a huge 55" screen tv, among other things, being pulled out of the back of an suv within view of the camera was not seen on camera. Our vehicle information was not asked for at check in. I will never stay nor recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Gigi, and staff the Manager, black male, very unprofessional. They appear to be professional but underhandedly smug and nonchalant like. Management didnt seem to be concerned with what was going on. The cleaning staff was ok. Only 1 star because my pooches were able to...
