I want to start by saying I should give one star for the start of our experience but one staff member alone redeemed this Waffle House. We entered the premise at 9:15 last Friday, just having driven 3 hours to take our kids to the zoo. 4 kids in tow aged 3 to 10, we walked in without greeting and sat down. The cook and waitress were having a discussion and then when we were acknowledged it was the waitress coming to tell us she was leaving because her shift was over and she wasn’t waiting on us. The cook also didn’t want to serve us but would be willing to cook for us if we took our food to go. We looked around since it was completely dead aside from another booth that already had their food and asked if she was actually serious. Again 4 small kids in tow and they didn’t want to serve us so she replied yes actually, and if we wanted to sit there and wait until the next shift showed up for us to be served that was another option for us. At this time half our party had taken kids to the bathroom so we got up and walked to the atrium to wait on them and let them know we needed to leave- we were so disappointed and honestly so taken back. We were googling other dining options which at that point were slim outside of fast food we would have to take back to the hotel room to eat when a cook that must’ve either been on break or leaving because his shift was also over (who was not in the kitchen when we were told we wouldn’t be served) came out and said I will make sure you and your kids get to eat- I’m not a server so I might not be the best waitress but I can try and you will be fed! We were so incredibly incredibly thankful for him and when we said thank you he said he was blessed enough to be able to work so that is what he is going to do. Someone make this man more than the cook- his attitude and dedication to work are so worthy of noting and bringing to attention to. He welcomed us back inside warmly, took our order and took care of us until the next shift came in which couldn’t have been more than 10 minutes later because another server came in and brought our food over- equally as friendly as the cook that brought us back in to take care of us. & honestly best scrambled eggs ive ever had as a 35...
Read moreWoke up with a craving for a waffle house pecan waffle and hash browns. Upon arriving there with my daughter for brunch, the atmosphere was chaotic! Though it was change of shift, customer service should never be lacking! No teamwork was demomstrated when my server and cook were late coming on shift! Finally, our order was taken by a waitress from the prior shift after being scolded to do so by an off duty employee. Our order wasn't correct! And to top it off, instead of the server/cook properly remaking the order it was salvaged at best!!!! My pecan waffle had pecans just dumped on the plate! Our scrambled cheese eggs had no cheese and by the time the cook added cheese to the eggs my toast, hashbrowns, and meat were cold!!!! I asked for my bill to be adjusted for the inconvenience and the manger did comply. However, he never came out to apologize or speak to me about my concerns! This is a prime example of how a team is only as good as it's weakest link and everything starts at the top then trickles down. I mean I could've insisted that my entire order be remade, but why does anyone have to repeatedly demand for someone to properly do their job and treat people the way that they themselves would like to be treated?!!!!...
Read moreThe customer service from the waitress was horrendous from the moment we walked through the door. My family of 9 entered the restaurant and the look that She gave us made it clear that she was not happy with the size of the party. She seated us at a dirty table that had a dirty cup placed it and it was not wiped off. We asked her to ask the chef to rinse off the pork chop before it's placed on the grill and I could not believe the attitude that she gave my cousin. She insisted that it wouldn't be done. After explaining to her the exact reason why, she said ok. We thanked the chef for doing so for us. I asked her if we could move from booth where she seated us due to a broken vent above the seat and she declined because she said it was easier for her to have the customers on one side of the restaurant. By the time my food got to me it was cold because the AC was blowing so harshly. I did not enjoy my food due to that reason. I have been to other Waffle Houses but this by far is the worst. I did not leave a tip (she didn't deserve it at all), my mom did (because she's nice). If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I'm NEVER going back to that location. They seriously need to let that...
