This was the worst experience Iâve ever had at a hotel. My father and I were staying in Columbus for the weekend and had a 3 night stay at this hotel. The first two nights went perfectly fine but the 3rd night was an absolute nightmare. At some point in the middle of the night, a group of what seemed like teenagers were checked into the room adjoined to ours and we were jolted awake at 4:30am to blaring music, yelling, and our room filled with the smell of cigarette smoke. I called down to the front desk to let them know and someone knocked on the door to tell them to stop. Nothing changed for about 15 minutes so I called a 2nd time to which they knocked on the door again. This time the music was turned down but the yelling and smoke smell continued. Finally, I got dressed and walked down to the front desk at about 5:15 in the morning and the night auditor sent someone to their room a 3rd time and said if a 4th complaint was made, they would be removed. âšâšAt this point, our nightâs sleep was ruined and I was no longer concerned with the situation being resolved and was more concerned about what the hotel was going to do to make this right for us.
The night auditor apologized and told me that, because no rooms were available for us to be moved to, he would take all my information down for the manager to see in the morning and that night stay would be refunded by the time we checked out. When we checked out in the morning, the staff had no idea what I was talking about and said the manager was not in yet. I finally got a call from the manager, John Weinheimer, while we were between flights and after asking me for a recap of my issue he immediately turned snide and condescending with his tone and declared that the only tenant during the entire weekend that was an issue was me. He said that the original tenant of the adjoining room had to be moved because of multiple noise complaints made against my father and I which is astounding considering we were only awake in the hotel room for less than an hour each night quietly watching TV. I told him I was never made aware of any noise complaints nor do I comprehend how thereâs any way we could have been perceived as being too loud. This is besides the issue, but clearly this hotel has an issue with thin walls and/or noise bleeding through the doors of adjoining rooms if there were actually complaints made about us. We even talked with another guest in the elevator that said they got no sleep because his adjoining room was arguing in the middle of the night. So if you do stay here, be prepared to be as quiet as a church mouse and hope your neighbors do the same.
John then told me that he warned everyone that us concert people were going to be a noise problem and that, as someone who is a Marriott Bonvoy member, I am not new to how hotels work. Apparently, paying $200 per night to not be able to sleep is how hotels work according to John and Marriott. Clearly this guy was going to say anything to avoid refunding me so I mentioned that the employee I spoke with already told me the 1 night would be refunded no problem so being met with so much resistance was certainly not expected. John concluded our talk by insinuating that I was lying about this and he would need to verify with the employee and call me back later than night. That 2nd phone call never happened and I have yet to get ahold of John since. Clearly, $200 is more important to John than a returning customer so obviously I will never visit this location again and will likely never use...
Read moreI typically make a point to stay at Marriott properties whenever I travel, as I have come to rely on the consistent quality of service and cleanliness the brand represents. Unfortunately, our recent experience at this location fell far short of those expectations. While I want to acknowledge that the staff we encountered were generally kind and hospitable, the overall quality of our stay â particularly the cleanliness and service â was deeply disappointing.
Upon our arrival, we were dismayed to find that our room had not been cleaned to Marriottâs usual standards. The toilet was visibly soiled with dried urine, and used toilet paper was left on the bathroom floor â an unacceptable oversight by any standard, let alone Marriottâs. This was certainly not the welcome we anticipated. The next morning, I brought this to management's attention, and while the housekeeping supervisor came to personally clean the bathroom â which I appreciated â the rest of the room remained untouched. The beds were unmade, and clumps of hair from the previous guest were still present on the floor.
What was especially frustrating was that this lack of attention to detail continued throughout our six-night stay. Fingerprints remained on the mirror and bathroom fixtures, the sink area was never properly cleaned, and we returned one evening to find the ice bucket still filled with water from the previous guest â a clear sign that basic housekeeping protocols were being ignored. Despite raising concerns, our beds were only made once during the entire duration of our stay, and I had to repeatedly request even the most basic cleaning services.
Additionally, each morning I asked the front desk for extra towels and an additional bath mat. Yet not once during our stay were these items delivered to the room. I found myself needing to reiterate the same request again every evening â something that should never be necessary after a simple morning request. This repeated oversight only underscored the lack of attentiveness and follow-through.
To make matters worse, I realized after checking out at 1:00 PM that I had left my neck heating pad in the microwave. I called the front desk within a few hours, only to be told that nothing was found. Given the consistently poor housekeeping we experienced, I find it hard to believe the room was thoroughly checked. When I followed up the next morning, I was met with rudeness from the front desk associate, Doug, who had been discourteous throughout our stay. He then transferred me to the district manager Joeâs voicemail â only for the call to be disconnected.
This is not the level of service or cleanliness I expect from a Marriott property. In fact, we spent one night during this same trip at a Comfort Inn, and it far surpassed this Marriott in both cleanliness and care. It is disheartening to experience such a lapse in standards from a brand Iâve long trusted â especially as my husband is a Lifetime Titanium Elite member.
In all honesty, this property does not reflect the values and expectations associated with the Marriott name. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately, as this experience was far below what any guest â loyal or not â should...

I stayed at this hotel for 20 days for business. Here is a non-comprehensive list of things I do not like:
-Right from checking in, I noticed the staff was a little bit rude, or perhaps condescending. I chalked it up to maybe my perception due to checking in after a long series of flights. 20 days later, it hadn't changed much, if any at all, save for one individual that definitely grew more friendly and welcoming as time went on.
-The hotel posts "Shuttle Service" as a benefit on their website (I believe). Do not believe this. The very first night, I tried scheduling a shuttle for dinner, and was promptly (and again, condescendingly) told that the shuttle service is for work, i.e. getting me from the hotel to National Board. I thought maybe it was just late, and my request was last minute. I mentioned this to the driver the next day and he confirmed that, and I quote, "I can possibly drive you to a store that's along the way between the hotel and the National Board, but we don't really shuttle for dinner."
-Over the course of the week, my empty water (and beverage) bottles just piled up without being cleaned up. The trash bins are laughably small and fill up quickly. I guess the idea is that if it isn't in the trash bin, it will not be removed (common sense be damned!). It wasn't until I happened to be in on a weekend and instructed the cleaning lady to take the bottles, that they took it away. Overall, the cleaning is just well below standards. They stopped cleaning my bedroom altogether, and simply replaced towels and emptied the trash bin. To reiterate my point, I even had a one-gallon jug of water, sitting empty right next to the trash can and it was still there after they had taken out the trash.
-The water pressure is weak, and takes a long time to get hot.
-The air conditioner is nigh unresponsive. That is, I keep the living room thermostat set to off, but for whatever reason it continues to cycle, working as a fan at unpredictable times.
I wish I had written down my gripes as it went along, these are the first that come to my mind. All in all, the stay has simply and barely been passable. If you are willing to take my advice, skip this place and go to the Homewood Suites right around the corner. I haven't stayed there, but I did stay at one in Hartford, CT and if the standards are the same, you'll have a much more...
