Having sworn-off the Red Roof chain many years ago because filthy, run-down properties, we went out on a limb to stay here based on the good reviews and the need for a place to stay that accepted pets without charging an arm and a leg. We were impressed. The hotel and grounds were well-maintained, rooms were very clean, the staff were friendly and the location was good. Is it the Ritz Carlton, no, not at this price point. The towels were nice though the amenities like soap, shampoo, etc. were in wall-mounted dispensers. Ho-hum. But we slept well and the hotel was quiet even though we were only one room away from the elevator. The cable TV package wasn’t exactly robust but acceptable. There wasn’t anything in the line of a continental breakfast which has become a staple of most places but they did have coffee makers in the room and coffee 24/7 in the lobby. The room (Suite King w/sofa Bed) was large and well-lit with ample charging outlets for electronics but required an angled view to watch TV unless you watch while in bed. The bathroom was oddly small but not a deal-breaker. Just don’t count on a large vanity and be prepared to stack your items efficiently. We can’t comment on the Wi-Fi since we travel with our own Hotspots. Strange, but there weren’t any trash containers to be found in the hallways and one could easily be added next to the ice machines. If there was anything that could have been better, it would have been a bit more flexibility on the part of the hotel in allowing a late check-out. We requested a check-out of noon vs. the standard 11AM but we’re only given an extra 30 minutes. Really? Had we not worked in the hospitality industry some years ago, this might have been a non-issue. But on a Monday when the hotel was less than fully occupied the night before, this really rubbed me the wrong way. Would we stay there again? Yes though we’d be more insistent on a little more cooperation on what’s generally...
Read moreWow, I wish I could give this place zero stars. I had been staying here often while doing my at home job. At first, it was very business friendly and quiet to get meetings done.
I had stayed here for 7 days and on the 4th day, I heard a loud knock on my door in the middle of my zoom meeting. Housekeeper said they needed to do housekeeping every 3 days. Which I knew that was a rule however I was in the middle of a meeting and couldn't have my room cleaned. I was told she'd be back in an hour. Never came back.
Next day comes around with more meetings and I get a call from the front desk saying I must take room service. I said I'm in meetings for the next two hours but after that for sure. They made a giant fuss about it and basically demanded to come into my room. The front desk was getting extremely snippy so I hung up and decided to let them figure out what worked for them. They had ample opportunity throughout the day to come service my room but never did.
Due to this, the manager got into his feelings and put me on a do not rent list, all because I needed my zoom meetings to finish before they came and cleaned. He refused to give a refund and used some unprofessional language when I asked for reimbursement. The crazy part about all of this is Red Roof corporate redeemed 7 nights for me immediately. They included they had problems with this manager and his attitude towards unhappy guests many times in the past. Interesting how I'm good in Red Roof corporate's book, but this manager/owner believes he's above them
Decent rooms for the price, however if you have any issues with this place, prepare to be bombarded with zero manners and unprofessional attitude. I haven't made this my regular spot in a while. If you're on the first floor, the doors to outside are paper thin and you can hear every car coming into the parking lot. Super rundown and in need of renovations on...
Read moreGoogle really needs to start allowing the option for half a star since they are re-introducing themselves. I booked this hotel red roof plus Worthington Ohio 7480 North High St.. I work for the state and have to drive two hours away once a week to work in office for two days. I booked this hotel for Monday and Tuesday. I check in Monday after work go up to my room and immediately pull back the comforter and the sheets and I noticed hair all over the mattress cover unzip the mattress cover and what do I see a bedbug I take two pictures of this bedbug, go down to the front desk and spoke with Komal And told her I need a refund because my room number 226 has bedbugs. She went up to the room, came back, maybe three minutes later and said she didn’t see anything and how does she know it’s their room? She accused me of taking a picture of any mattress with a bed bug. Then she began to speak in another language with a gentleman who is either her father or her grandfather, and they totally ignored me as if I wasn’t standing there. She reached in the drawer and gave me my cash deposit back. I told her you never asked me or confirmed where I saw the bedbug. It’s on the top left of the mattress near the nightstand. It’s as if I wasn’t even there. She said they just had the exterminator out to their location so there’s no way there was a bed bug. They do not need to run a hotel because anyone with common sense knows when an exterminator comes out if you do have bugs yes that is to exterminate them but it’ll also make them appear because they’re trying to leave. I didn’t drive two hours to plant a bedbug to get out of paying for a hotel room. I’d rather be asleep. . Do not stay at this hotel. Here’s the bedbug picture to...
