I don't know what is so difficult about running hotels and following the rules you've established. I know that when I checked in to my overpriced room, I was schooled on all the ins and outs on what the hotels policies are. I was given a piece of paper that I had to sign stating that I aknowledged those rules and would abide by them. First of all, this is not a $200 a night hotel. It's barely a $100 hotel. I paid what I paid to be close to where I needed to be. So obviously there's price gouging there. Whatever. Why is it that when I woke up there were homeless people sleeping in the lobby. Then when I go to grab some coffee, one of them wakes up and immediately proceeds to ask me for money, cigarettes, if I have any drugs or food to eat. I had one eye open. It was 5am. Are we really panhandling in the lobby? They definitely didn't pay to be here. I finished that awkward exchange and went outside to drink my coffee. There are people sleeping in their cars in the parking lot. More homeless people roaming around asking for money. I haven't even had my first sip of coffee and I've been asked for things by 3 different people. This isn't downtown. It's not a bad area. It's definitely not the hotel policy to allow for things like this. Yet here we are. I go and sit in my car to drink my coffee and wake up away from anyone who will ask me for things. Then when I go back to come inside the front door is locked and the front desk guy looks at me like like where's your key card at? Nevermind the fact that he just saw me leave, but there's literally a homeless dude 5 feet away in the lobby. Does it suck that homelessness exists? Yes. Do I want to be badgered the minute I wake up? Absolutely not. I probably wouldn't have cared at all had they just kept to themselves. Instead it felt like I was walking down the street of Columbus when I got bent over to stay in a...
Read moreAllow me to get right to the point. I usually expect a Holiday Inn Express to be mediocre, basic, limited-- but from the moment I pulled into the parking lot (even though it was kind of difficult to turn into), I noticed how nice the landscaping was. The hotel didn't look brand new or anything fancy from the front, but coming in, you see the cool looking red carport and the blue lights. I went in and was immediately greeted by two ladies, Amelia and Michele. They were friendly and smiling-- like they actually enjoyed their job (hard to find now-a-days). I am not a big fan of rewards programs (way too many cards in the purse) but they offered me late check out so I signed up. Got a nice email and their app is really user friendly. Anyway, back to the hotel.... I went to my room and opened the door, noticing the cool colors in the hall. The room smelled and looked very fresh. It's that "just cleaned" smell, not the "chemical overload" smell. The desk light was on for me. Bed was extremely comfortable and I love the soft and firm pillows. Next morning, went for breakfast and Sam and Sandra had the whole lobby smelling amazing. The food was better than most free breakfast food, but the breakfast people were super friendly! Along my stay, I was greeted by several housekeepers, the head housekeeper named Autumn, the General Manager Steven and the Assistant named Clint. I spoke with a guest who had been there a while and she said that it was a wonderful hotel and she has really loved her stay also. The only bad thing-- aside from having to leave-- was turning out of the parking lot. It was a smack back to reality about how people can truly be when no one would let me turn! Frustrating!! Anyway, the hotel is a great one, and one that I would recommend to anyone. I can't wait to come back in a...
Read moreAbsolutely positively wish I wouldâve never booked this place. it was my first and last time coming here because not only was the room, but I had to wait over an hour for a dirty room. I would love to know if thereâs a policy for going in and later finding that your room has disgusting towels that have been used tucked away (see pic)!!! I am going to file a complaint, but not just because of the dirty room but because the front desk was totally unorganized and for the total of almost $500 that I spent on two rooms combined, I expected more. The black guy at the front desk was totally rude and obnoxious. I think they need to hire additional help to maybe help him out if heâs stressed out. For example, every time I said something to the lady at the front desk, literally stopped in his tracks and came and intervened and always had a comment even when I wasnât speaking to him. I mean this guy literally stopped helping the people that were standing comment on what I was asking the female that was working. he also seems to be a little bit prejudice because not only did he shut the fire pit and patio down when we went out he actually didnât know with us overheard him saying that he was shutting it down because we were out there. I accepted it at first, but then I look out my window and see that it was back open again(see pic). I think I just simply hate employees who act like they own the place. He probably doesnât even have stock in this hotel.đ Dear Mr Tan pants guy, you are rude, obnoxious and simple do not need to hold a position that deals directly with the public. Maybe if you paid more attention to the detail in your so-called clean rooms instead of me then then I wouldnât have been itching uncomfortably all night not knowing if I was lying on more dirty...
