My boyfriend and I came into this restaurant to have a drink and appetizers. When it was our turn to approach the greeter podium the lady initially did not speak, say I will be right with you, and barely gave eye contact but she eventually said it would be 20 minutes to an hour. My boyfriend asked if bar seating was open. She replied, âif there are open seats you can sit at the barâ. I waited at the greeter area while my boyfriend went to check and I gave our names just in case there were no seats. There were 3 seats. We took two of them. We proceeded to sit down at two empty seats. There were plates from the previous customers left over so we waited for someone to acknowledge us and clear the plates. After approximately 10 minutes of them walking past us. One person the female glanced at us and kept walking. I decided as a paying customer to attempt to speak and she still kept going. Then my boyfriend flagged down a gentleman bartender. He approached us and stated these seats were closed because there were DIRTY plates there. So they were basically weâre going to have us just sit there I guess until we decided to just get up and leave. Customarily the bar area is open seating for customers who want to come get a drink and go. That is what we were there for. That is what the greeter stated we could do at the front. The male bartender then proceeded to argue with us as paying customers WHO HAD NEVER BEEN TO THIS RESTAURANT BEFORE about the seats being closed even after telling him that we received the okay from the greeter. There was no signage stating otherwise. When we finally did get minimal service the female bartender was VERY rude, did not provide us with menus and angry at the fact that she had to serve us. I asked her what flavors do you have for the margaritas and she angrily started to say them very fast. Then the male bartender provided me a menu. He must have seen her attitude too. WE ONLY STAYED TO PROVE A POINT. We will NEVER go back and will spread the word. There are way too many restaurants like this that provide way better service. I sure hope race was not the issue and that it was at least just poor and rude customer service because we were black. Majority of the customers in there that night were black. We will NEVER go back and I will spread the word. There are way too many restaurants like this that provide way better service. I will return to my regular restaurant even though itâs further away. The drive is worth being treated with RESPECT. Be careful where you spend your hard earned...
Read moreJust had a soft opening about five days ago the grand opening is on Tuesday. Used to be located further east on Broad St., pass just right past Waggoner Rd. I have a favorite Mexican restaurant that we go to on a regular basis, but wanted to give Cazuelaâs a try. For a soft opening it was very busy. There were a lot of staff and they did a wonderful job. I canât even say what a great job they did even if it wasnât a regular server somebody was always coming by. Is everything OK? Do you need anything? Very nice very welcoming they took or doesnât really have a Mexican field. The margaritas must be fantastic because just about everyone had one. My go to is always when Iâm comparing a Mexican restaurant as a shredded beef chimichanga. I donât really care for a cheese sauce or queso on the place that I usually frequent. Thatâs my very very favorite server just with a little shredded cheese and I usually just throw some salsa on it. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga and asked not to have the cheese sauce and my husband ordered. His favorite enchiladas really appreciated the complementary chips and salsa. The chips. Couldâve been warm but they were still fine and the tango was OK. It couldâve had a little more flavor maybe needed some cumin or something to give it some oomph. Black beans again weâre OK but couldâve had some cumin or something just to give it some pizzazz. My husband said the enchiladas for OK he likes it at her other favorite place but he said they did her if they did have a kick, I would definitely go back. Maybe try something else other than chimichangas really my favorite but I can try something else I think what would bring me back is just fabulous service and I hope this time goes on. They keep that fabulous friendly welcoming service. Definitely...

Taking Cazuelas down from four stars to one. Three visits in a row were SO disappointing that I can't recommend it anymore. On the first bad visits of three, our order was way wrong and service was terrible, the second of three, I ordered a pick-three and the elote which was frozen corn. Frozen corn. In August, in the midwest. Terrible, tough, barely seasoned, I couldn't eat it. The third was the it though, we're done. The server shrugged off two questions about the menu and said she didn't know the answers but didn't try to find out, she or the kitchen completely messed up our food order three times (but she said, "it's not my fault"... then who's checking your orders before they go out?), and when my jicama fries hit the table, they were indeed fried, not fresh and raw, like shown on the menu. Again the server (different one this time) shrugged and said, "yeah" when I pointed out the difference. They tried to correct the wrong order but didn't bring one of the right items at all. We had to grab silver off another table after asking for it twice. My husband's margarita was salty because of huge salt chunks from the rim that had skidded into the drink, and his beans had no seasoning, along with two of the other tacos. We left about half of the food on the table and paid, after asking for a corrected check that was rung up wrong....
