Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbus

My wife and I had an excellent experience here on our first visit. Ben, our server, was friendly and approachable, and would quickly respond to any requests or needs we had. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection (at least to my own taste!) The restaurant was mostly clean with the exception of a number of drain flies creating a nuisance at our table. Otherwise, an excellent experience overall!

Regarding customer service: our server Ben, whom we learned was in was in training (and had only been there for a month), had a very friendly attitude and exhibited an overall quality of service that was excellent and refreshing. This is especially true with us coming in on a holiday (7/4/24), when the customer service in other places seemed exasperated, sullen, or slow to respond. If you're reading this, Ben, please keep doing what you're doing, and keep doing it well - I can already tell you have a ton of potential!

The only real complaint I would have with this place would be the number of drain flies around our food and seats. They were rather annoying and we were constantly swatting them away from our food. Outside of the flies (which I suppose are a typical summer thing anyway), the rest of the restaurant was clean, and the food was prepared perfectly. 6/7/ 22 at 1:05 AM coming from Cedar point and we felt hungry so we decided to stop at waffle house in Reynoldsburg Ohio which is we always go to on regular basis. But this time it's definitely different because it's only two people there one cook and one server. So we seat down we had coffee and two couple was ahead of us so we thought that it was going to be quick. She took our order after the couple that ahead of us then there was 10 people that just walk in now mind you that she already took our order after 15 minutes she took the 10 people order that just walk in. It took 15 minutes for the 10 people and got their order and they already eating. So patiently we wait. 1 hour and 50 minutes later we never got our order until we just decided to leave and the server never come back to our table finish our coffee and pay for it and end up living. after being home we realize that it's really Sad to say it in this comment that WE ARE THE ONLY WHITE PEOPLE AT THE RESTAURANT THAT AM. I just had the worst experience at WH. I witnessed an employee by the name of Lashawnda verbally assault her coworkers repeatedly. She was a bully. The worst part is that all of the other employees just stood around and laughed. It was clear they feared her. She was extremely disrespectful. The poor girl she attacked said that it happens repeatedly and that management ignores her complaints which is unacceptable. She wanted to walk out but sadly stated how badly she needs the job. Other staff was also disrespectful, loud side convos, cursing, etc. No manager on duty. 8-10 employees, and seemed as tho our waitress (the one who was assulted) was doing all of there jobs. The employee (Lindsey) did a great job at keeping her cool. At one point, she even accepted full responsibility for something the was clearly not her fault and was further attacked. She was pubically humilatied in front of several customers and I'm sure there will be multiple complaints on the disrespectful woman Lashawnda. I saw a few people even recording her.
