Stayed here with my s/o for a day as it was in between my destination and where I was coming from. Overall, the stay was alright but not too crazy or amazing - just fine. I would come back here again especially if certain things improve. I will list out the good and bad with my explanation.
Positives: Price is fair for what you get. It was around $70-80 before New Year and that was good in my opinion. No hidden fees are added when checking in. Leads to the buildings around the hotel. A lot of different places to eat, explore, and shop. I found it super convenient to be near different stores! The hotel itself was beautiful and very clean/neat. Had some covid protocols going on but not super strict, I appreciated the hotel + room is super clean and sanitized when walking in. The room had all the needed essentials to make us feel comfortable in our room. I could adjust the temperature of the room easily, mini-fridge to store the foods and drinks, and even outlets to plug in our electronics. A bonus is the free wifi that was really good, had no issues with it. Bathroom has toilet paper, lots of towels, toiletries, hair dryer, beautiful shower, functioning toilet. Everything in there looked clean and worked good. (Look into negatives area to get a bigger insight).
The hotel's app is very good and user-friendly. It was easy to see the different days of bookings, prices (with the fees and what is included), and that you could check-in and check out through there!
The lady in the reception stand in the early morning when I was checking out was super kind and helpful when I encountered a problem of getting charged twice.
There is an indoor pool, free coffee/water, lots of chairs and tables. Very welcoming hotel.
Very good elevators, lots of rooms, colorful, and clean. The environment felt super safe. Lots of parking. Plan out how you will carry your belongings into your room!
Negatives: Not sure if every room is like this but there were some "meh" things about the room I had.
Be sure to bring a blanket here if you are not a big fan of thin sheets as there aren't thick enough blankets. I liked everything else about the bed - comfortable firm huge-sized bed with cozy pillows.
I read about the bathroom smelling like sewers in other reviews -- my room had that issue around the shower and toilet area, it was not a turn-off for me as the bathroom looked so gorgeous. (Probably the most beautiful bathroom from a hotel so far, especially for that price? That is pretty good for me). Besides the looks, it had a weird shower head that was not streaming correctly - I was mixed on the water pressure as it is light pressure and I could not really change that. It did the job regardless.
I was charged once I got to the hotel (this is normal) and checked in. BUT, tried to get charged twice for a cancellation fee on the day that I was checking out at 4am. (I was not sure if my reservation online affected this but it does not correlate with wanting to cancel the hotel when I already was in there.) It was very weird and seems like a common thing for other people staying at different La Quinta hotels. I looked into my bank statements and it showed I already got charged so I was confused on why it was getting charged again. However, the lady in the reception stand in the early morning helped me and she was super kind and helpful. Thank you a lot! :o)
Checking in, there was another lady who was alright but did not feel welcomed - if that makes sense? Had an airpod in and felt like she did not care. Just wanted to add that, not as of a big deal, bringing acknowledgment on professionalism from someone who worked in that position before too.
These are the pros and cons that come up in my mind at the moment and wanted to express with honesty if anyone is interested. This hotel was pretty nice and is worth staying at, I see myself coming back here again; however, improvements are much needed to...
Read moreThis property has so much potential but the staff (with the exception of the young man running breakfast) and cleanliness will prevent me from coming back. Check in is at 3 and upon arrival no one greeted is warmly and advised our room wasn’t ready but we could have a “smaller” one but I declined. So, instead of apologizing we were rudely told we had to wait. 90 min later we got a room, hurried up and got ready so we could make our activity on time. Upon coming back to the room at night I pull the bed back and there are long black hairs in the bedding (I am blonde and husband is bald). It gets better - I look at the floor to the side of my bed and there is a collection of grape stems piled up and crumbs everywhere. We go and inspect the rest of the room and find more crumbs, a decorative pillow stained with red gunk, and towels that have holes all over them. We were tired and didn’t want to deal with changing rooms. Told the front desk first thing in the morning and the attendant could care less - I said I wouldn’t be paying for the stay and she rudely said she could do nothing. I asked for a manager and told there are none on the weekends. Wth? The busiest days of the week and no managed on duty? This place is run by a bunch of unhappy young girls that obviously don’t know what customer service is. Laughed at card that said “Mo” was proud to service our room 😂 - yep, I think she sat the card down and left based off the filth in the room. We visit Wichita monthly and love that are but will not be coming back. #dissatisfied #dobetter #dirtyhotel...
Read moreWe stayed for the night on 6/8/23 and was very impressed with the hotel, their staff, and facilities! It was very clean, and had plenty of room for our family of 4, with 2 fluffy queen sized beds! It allowed dogs, which I unfortunately am allergic to, so we had a very clean pet free room. I love the design of the bathroom, small closet, Cooking nook (microwave, fridge, & coffee maker), large work desk, and the chair with the perfect reading lamp in the corner! The lamps between the beds and on the desk were also built with USB outlets, so we could charge many of our devices at once! The large lobby/lounge had a great atmosphere with 2 flat screens playing movies, several different types of tables and chairs to work or socialize. There was a courtesy station for everyone to make their own cup of coffee, tea, or enjoy some iced water. My daughter & I found it very relaxing to work on some drawing practice for several hours, while my husband and son enjoyed the weight room and indoor pool. The bartender (Amanda?) that evening was very friendly and sociable. She made me a couple delicious margaritas, and Shirley Temples for my daughter, during our 5 hours of sketching. The breakfast area was great! They had juice, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, different bread items, eggs, sausages, and 2 different types of waffle makers! The only negative, is that the ice maker wasn’t working on the 2nd floor, but I used the elevators to use the one on the 1st floor. No biggie! It happens! Thank you for making this a comfortable stay, as we travel along to our next...
