The experience starts at the door, and it couldn't have gotten any better. After a several hundred mile drive on the stressful roads with all the crazy drivers, I was exhausted, weary and short tempered. That all changed when I walked through the doors at Holiday Inn Express on 2340 N.Greenwich in Wichita. I was greated and welcomed so happily and heartfelt by Michelle the 2nd shift desk person and the hotel manager Whitney herself, it was like walking through your own front door at home. I travel and stay all over the U.S. and Canada, and I can tell you, this is the best greeting I have ever gotten. Their smiles, concern, sincerity and professionalism, changed not only my whole day, but my week. I was in Wichita for serious and stressful business affairs for P.T.S.D. Victims that took longer than expected. Thus my everyday needs changed. They (all) were so accomidating, it lifted my spirits and in a restful environment like I experienced there, many other people benefited.
Very clean and comfortable room. I slept better here than in my own bed. I was able to relax while doing a considerable amount of paperwork at night. The breakfastes were good and selection hot and cold was varried. The hot main menue changed about every two days. The eating area was also very clean as the attending worker was always there cleaning and restocking. I did not use the pool or exercise areas but, I did check them out and wish I had time to use them, they looked great. Maid service was pleasant and constant. With my erratic changes daily, they were check on my needs once or twice a day. Everyone I encountered from front desk, to maintenance and house keeping, all were very pleasant and accomidating.
Another important thing for me was the location. Within the first day, I was able to easily get anywhere in the city very easily. Including the airport.
Great place---Great people, turned business trip into a pleasure trip. Thank you especially to Whitney...
Read moreOverall nice hotel. We had 3 of us in the room. We had been at another 2 queen/sofa bed suite hotel for 3 days prior to this stay, so had something to compare it to. This room was much smaller. The sink, toilet, shower were all in one room, rather than the other suite where the shower and toilet were separated from the sink. Makes it easier for 3 women to get ready.
There was no ability to get Netflix, Prime video, etc., on the TV, which was surprising in this day and age.
I wanted to do laundry in the guest laundry. I didn't have enough change. There was no change machine in the laundry room. I put my load of clothes in the washer and went down to the front desk to get some quarters. Guess what? They didn't have any quarters, according to girl at front desk. I was really amazed that they had no change. I went back to the room to try to find change from my family members, and we didn't have enough. So I was going to drive somewhere to get change (I was in my bathing suit with wet hair). There was someone else at the front desk who asked me if I needed anything, and I told him I needed change for laundry. He went in the back and brought out a ziplock bag with a bunch of change in it and looked for quarters in there. There were only a few quarters. He said they usually sell quarters but he hadn't had time to go to the bank. I ended up going out to another business to get some quarters and finally was able to do my laundry. This isn't that bad, but it was extremely annoying.
Also, the computers provided for guest use were SO slow. Problems printing, message saying ink was low. Took a long time to boot up. Frustrating.
I must say though that the gentleman who was taking care of the breakfast area each day was so darn nice and friendly and was really on the ball. He kept the are very clean and stocked up. He is an asset to your company. We WOULD stay here again...
Read moreSasha is a gem and perfect for her role as operations manager. She greeted us with a smile. We had a speedy check in and she was so friendly and attentive. We immediately felt welcome. My 10 year old even pointed out how nice she was. You don't see that often anymore. Even when our boys got a little out of control in the evening (we were there for a basketball tournament) she handled the whole situation with such a professional yet sweat manner when talking to them.
Our rooms were clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay there again next time we are in town.
Breakfast choices were ample but the kitchen manager (or person in charge of breakfast) was constantly complaining of having to take care of 200 people at the hotel. You can tell she was unhappy with her job. We were told by the front desk that we would have bacon on the 1st morning but she flat out told us that wasn't happening and that we would be lucky if we even got breakfast sausage the next day. After our check out on Sunday she told our small group to leave the dining hall and move to the conference room so she could clean the tables. The Holiday Inn express pretty much has no lobby but that little of it is connected to the dining hall. Sasha apologized for her behavior and told us we could stay but we just didn't want to be in the way. Maybe she was overwhelmed with having to take care of more than the usual amount of people staying at the hotel. Nevertheless that was the only minor negative experience during our stay.
The hotel is at a perfect location. Target and Cabbellas near by as well as Academy sports, Starbucks and many restaurants. We were only minutes away from our venue which was also very convenient.
All in all I would recommend this hotel and if you are lucky you will have Sasha at...
