The other reviews complaining about apathetic staff are not wrong. My room was clean but everything else about this place is appalling. I dealt with five staff members, four of them were horrific. I get to my room and the tv won’t turn on. I call the front desk, and the one person on duty tells me to jiggle the wires. I tired it and still not working. I call back and he sounds annoyed, comes up, takes a look and says he can’t do anything, and there are no other rooms available, mentions he will discount my room and leaves. No discount was applied. Next morning I try TV again and it turns on, but won’t change channels…so stuck on that “Marriott is wonderful” welcome screen. I mention to front desk on the way out, they tell me they will send maintenance up to fix it….not apologetic. I leave for the day and come back to find my TV still on and not changing channels- no evidence or messages that they tried to fix it. I go down to front desk to a new person who looked annoyed having to put down her book. She gave me a new remote and said she couldn’t help me past that … still didn’t work. She did mention putting me in another room, but i was checking out the next morning and I didn’t want a hassle - no apologies though. Had to unplug the TV to get it off the torturous Marriott welcome screen.
I had a double queen room. They had one coffee pod in the room and only serviced the room every two days (which they didn’t mention at check-in). So, one coffee for four people over two days. On top of that the fire detector in the room quickly yet randomly flashed a green light all night. The bar was ridiculously priced, with a glass of wine substantially more than most hotels in any downtown full service hotel. It’s Conway, Arkansas and I paid less for the same glass of wine at the downtown San Francisco Marriott. When I went to check out there were three people in line just to complain about some aspect of their stay—just to be dismissed quickly by the staff. One guy working the morning coffee shop was the only one who was service oriented and helped the other staff as they struggled. It’s obvious whoever owns and manages this property is just doing a money grab and has no respect for the people paying to stay there or the reputation Marriott...
Read moreI would have given the hotel 5 stars but the manager was rude over phone. I reserved the room with a card just to hold the reservation and was going to give them my new card when I got there. She called saying because of graduation or something I had to give another card but I told her I was driving and couldn't call out the number. She said she was going to cancel my room. I told her I drove 8 hours and I'm almost there. She said she can't hold the room but for 30 minutes. I understand that but what got me was as soon as I pulled up, she left from the front desk so she didn't have to speak to me. I wanted her to match the same rude energy in person as she had on the phone. I really wanted to get another hotel but everything was booked. She left the lady at the front desk to deal with me when she knew I was mad. That's not what managers are supposed to do. However, Crystal was really friendly so I let the manager's (I think her name was Carman) nasty attitude slide and didn't take it out on the lady at the front desk.
Anyway, my review:
The Good: The hotel is new. The room was clean. The bed is comfortable. The pool was nice and clean. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room which is good because some Courtyards do not have microwaves anymore. The ladies cleaning the rooms were the nicest people ever. They were very kind and friendly.
The Bad: There were small things such as the iron was cracked and the ironing board was broke. They sent me a new ironing board. The shower didn't have a shower door that closed so water was going everywhere on the bathroom floor.
The Ugly: Just the manager!
Will I stay here again. No, although the hotel was nice. I don't like rude people who leave their workers to deal with...
Read moreWe stayed here while in town for a baseball tournament. Upon arrival they were able to get us checked in earlier than check in time. The room was exactly as it looked and described online. We had a king room with a pull out and the size was perfect for our family. The hotel is new and the room still had a new smell to it. The pullout couch was comfortable and large enough for 2 kids. As the weekend went on we noticed some issues overall. See below. ||Pros: |- Location is great. Several restaurants and stores nearby. |- Clean rooms and lobby |- Lobby, bar and outside area were great. Lots of seating and space. A couple nights the lobby and outdoor patio were full of parents and it was a great vibe. |- Laundry is free |- Room temp was cold ||Cons: |- Was told they were short staffed and unable to do evening cleanings of common areas. A glass broke by the elevator and was only swept to the side. Glass pieces were not properly cleaned up. The broom and “wet area” sign were still up the next morning and glass not picked up. Floors and tables were not clean in the mornings. |- Room cleanings happen every other day and they were limited. Sheets were not changed and minimal towels replaced. When asked for more towels was told they didn’t have any more clean ones. |- Ran out of pool towels and did not have any more to give. |- Laundry is 1 washer and 1 dryer. There was a line consistently for the laundry room. We found best time to get it was middle of the night or very early morning. |- Pool is very small and indoors. By the end of the weekend the water was very cloudy and you couldn’t see the bottom of it. The pool and pool area were not cleaned daily. ||Overall we would stay here again if we are ever...
