Atmosphere: Very nice open layout, but not so open that you feel exposed, and not so enclosed that you feel crowded. I did wind up moving from inside to outside because it was so cold inside. Outside was nice soon comfortable, and felt very pleasant. Service was attentive, but not overbearing where you feel interrupted it. Good service good atmosphere.
Appetizers: Tuna tataki - Salt is a flavor enhancer, should not be the flavor itself. Hard to tell if the flavor was good because it was so salted. However the vegetable mix underneath, was fresh, and tasted good after we dripped all the sauce off.
Edamame - we had salted and lightly spiced. Was okay, I think a little undercooked, but not by much. Flavors were a little bland. Salt and flavor did not stick to the edamame. You had to wipe it in the bowl for the flavor.
Seaweed salad - bland and just a seaweed salad on top of greens (said mix). Not much enhanced flavor. Over salty soy sauce.
Salad - good salad, fresh carrots, good ginger dressing.
Food:
Chicken bowls - okay, but not great. Vegetables taste like they came from frozen vegetables. Chicken was a little dry, but had decent flavor. However, The rice was the star of the show (but not in a good way)... It tasted of essence of wet dog or poorly boiled pork. Eww... Made me nearly gag.. (I could not eat it at all). Glad they removed it from the ticket. I normally don't have them removed from my ticket, I want them to know it's not me looking for a discount, but this was SO bad I was bothered to pay for it..
Spicy tuna bite - when you think of a bite, you think of something small enough to pop in your mouth. These were more than a month full, and I have a big mouth. Decent okay flavor, but would have been better if each was split into 3 so they were more bites.
Regular tuna roll - the good star of the show. Very good balanced flavor. For a simple roll it was perfect. Don't think you could get better for a simple roll. Nothing spectacular, but a very well balanced flavor.
My restaurant interpretation of the 5🌟 rating system (feel free to use):
I started using this because I don't like seeing standard restaurants with 5🌟. If I see 5🌟 I expect more than standard. Also adjusted for type of business. Sit down restaurants are skewed and critiqued accordingly in comparison to fast food. My wife kept getting on to me for being too critical.
1🌟 = DUMP…. NEVER AGAIN I DON'T CARE IF IT IS FREE (wish there was a no star option). The food you would feed a prisoner, only if you didn’t like them. 2🌟 = Crap, fast food...... Only for If you are in a hurry, tight on $, and/or in a rush. (Think big chain places with $1 menu, not HORRIABLE, and sometimes a decent food comes out). 3🌟 = Okay, worth going on a regular, but has room to improve (Think frequent work lunch spot, Rarely less than Okay, usually Good to really good food) 4🌟 = Very good, favorite "common" places. Nothing EXCEPTIONAL. (Think casual date, Nicer Chain restaurants usually, occasional surprisingly good Fast food) 5🌟 = Reserved for EXTREMELY high quality and/or Exceptional, and Places that surprise me. (Think first date to impress, anniversary, special occasion) GREAT flavor, great food, ambiance,...
Read moreMy husband, son and I ate lunch at this conway location. I ordered the poke bowl, it was amazing. My son got an experience roll and my husband got the chicken and steak habachi and The unplugged roll. Hours after leaving he developed extreme food poisoning, coming out of both ends. Very tragic and traumatizing. My son nor I got any snippet of food poisoning, so I’m assuming it was something uncooked that he ordered. Possibly the chicken?! He has been up all tnight in and out of our restroom that’s located in our bedroom. He refuses to let me make the bed this morning because he is sick… I suggested an idea to help alleviate the problematic symptoms within his stomach that only required his hand and fingers. He was so terribly sick he refused that also. This is a serious situation and is effecting our marriage, mental health and raising my stress level significantly. Something needs to be resolved so this doesn’t happen to another unsuspecting happy couple, because we don’t need their lives flipped upside down or spewing out of both ends. Today was supposed to be a very delightful experience because our children finally went back to school from Christmas break. Now instead of preforming our martial duties that satisfy us both, we’re stuff here like enemies at war. I don’t even own a gas mask to protect myself from the horrid things and smells coming from this human who isn’t my husband anymore because he ate y’all’s chicken and steak habachi. What needs to be done in this situation? How is this even possible to be made right? The Little Rock location has never gave us these issues. Thank goodness! Do better! Not just better at fully cooking your food but better as in saving relations for your future customers. May god have mercy open their souls. (If they don’t own a gas mask)…. I should have saved the $135 bill to invest in classes to be able to endure toxic waste and the eye burning mustard gas coming out of this...
