There is nothing redeemable about this hotel. Just save yourself the trouble and don’t stay here. ||The entire hotel is filthy and worn down, which is shocking because it’s brand new. It wasn’t even open yet when I made my reservation. The floor of my room had huge stains and the bathroom floor and shower were stained as well. What I thought were stains and poor craftsmanship in the shower ended up being pure grime, as I discovered when I wiped it with a rag. There was hair in the shower. ||The elevator floor looked even worse than my room, and the elevator doors were covered in nasty fingerprints. One of the two elevators was out of service. ||During checkin, the two women working the front desk were very nice, though one of them said my room number out loud which of course is not allowed. (She was quickly and quietly reprimanded by the other employee.) I also overheard them telling someone they couldn’t switch rooms because the hotel is fully booked - I imagine I wasn’t the only one disappointed. ||When I first arrived to my room, I was shocked to see that the door was propped wide open. That freaked me out, especially as a solo traveler. I had to go through the room and make sure nothing weird was going on. A mop cover had been folded and shoved into the top of the door to keep it open! I had to pull it down and put it in the hallway outside my room. ||Then I found out that the hotels don’t supply hair dryers! I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hotel, especially a brand name hotel, that doesn’t have hair dryers. I had to waste my time and money to go buy one that I’ll only need to use one time. ||The TV wasn’t working. The front desk had me call tech support which was useless and frustrating. I ended up fixing the TV myself - no thanks to the support, who just asked me to turn it on and off multiple times.||As a longtime IHG member, this stay was horrific. I previously stayed at another Avid location, and it was nearly as bad as this. I will never stay at an Avid again, and I wouldn’t...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! I stayed last month on May 4-5. I put my credit card on file (as usual). The next morning I went to check out and the lady at the front desk charged my card without saying anything to me. I told her that I wanted to pay cash. She said “ok, I’ll reverse the charge.” I paid her then asked for a receipt. She said she couldn’t give me one because the printer was down. So I took a picture of her computer screen. A few days went by and I went to check my credit card statement to see if everything was OK. They charged my card TWICE! Now I’m out $208 cash PLUS another $416. I called them to talk to the GM. I attempted to call her 6-7 times in a 2 week span. No communication at all with her. I decided to call IHG corporate. They claim that they can’t help with the refund. They claim the GM has to handle it. They said they made a claim, emailed it to her, and that I would have communication with her within 24-48 hrs. That DID NOT happen. I called corporate back again several times and they continue to refer me back to GM. After 3 WEEKS OF ATTEMPTING TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE GM (remember I’m the customer that’s out $416) I FINALLY got her on the phone after having to say my name was someone else. She said she was looking into it and she would call back…… She has yet to call back OR respond at all. Oh BTW I emailed her the pic of the computer screen that shows where I paid cash and where the card was charged twice (it looks confusing or I would have called them out on it then). So here I am OVER A MONTH later with communication cut off again and still waiting on the refund. I’m almost convinced that shady stuff is going on, especially when the GM is ghosting me for my money. Either way if you have a problem they will not solve it in a timely manner and corporate is useless. Watch your credit cards with this hotel and most likely...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel from 6/22-6/27, and the best thing about the stay by far is the staff. They clearly take pride in their work, and they care about their "residents". The hotel is quiet, safe, and clean. The exterior and interior of the property is constantly maintained.
I worked remotely from my hotel and never had a problem with disturbances. I took breaks throughout the day, and whenever I stepped into the common areas, someone was always cleaning or touching up something. That's amazing.
I had a problem with my room door, and management immediately attempted to rectify the situation. She was so sweet and even though she could not fix the door, she had me moved to a comparable unit on the same floor. She apologized for the inconvenience, and even checked in at a later time to verify that I was enjoying the new room. Customer service was a 10/10.
The grab and go breakfast was exactly as it is advertised, I was not disappointed. They have 24 hour coffee and tea, which I thought was really nice. They also had a hot water machine, which i found really helpful for making warm bottles for my baby.
The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. And I like that they use dove bathroom products, I didn't even have to open my own.
My only suggestion (and not exclusively for this property alone) would be to have some time of Swiffer wet wipe or dry mop for the customers to use. Even if customers have to come to the front desk to get it. I had my baby with me and he spilled juice and I wanted to mop it up (without disturbing staff), but thankfully they were able to provide me with a wet mop.
If I ever have to come to the Atlanta area again, i know exactly where I'm staying. Ive stayed in several high star hotels, and my stay at Avid was comparable.
I loved my stay and I'll recommend it to anyone I know who will be...
