READ BEFORE YOU BOOK!! 🚨

There’s plenty more hotels to choose from in the area! Sleep inn is across the street behind Cracker Barrel! I don’t know where to begin, I checked in around 11pm for $98.88 after the county started flooding and I had to evacuate my home with my children. I arrived at the hotel, paid $98.88 per room- I rented 2 rooms at 11pm! The next morning around 8am, I needed to extend my stay for both rooms because the flood damage. This hotel charged me an additional $225.89 & $207.75 for the rooms I rented at 11pm the night before. Price gouging is illegal, just an FYI. That’s $631.70 for less than 48 hours to stay in their hotel during a natural disaster. The county was flooded, news broadcasts everywhere about the severe flooding. Having no where else to go at the time, I was forced to pay the money to stay until it was safe to return home. After paying the additional $433 for another night, we were not able to get any sleep because people were partying in the hallways, running across the the second floor, knocking on hotel doors and running away at 3am, smoking weed in the door ways, just absolutely absurd behavior! Keep in mind they have signs posted for QUIET TIME HOURS 10pm-7am! WHICH IS NOT TRUE!! After paying so much money, my kids couldn’t even swim in the pool because there was an entire football youth team in this little indoor pool with no adult supervision diving in 5ft of water and almost jumped on my toddlers head! Throwing footballs across the pool room towards people faces! I was hit with a ball sitting on the edge of the pool. The management of this property is appalling, she told me to just come up due to the flooding and she would make sure everything was taken care of- checked in at 11pm at a rate of $98.88 per room then charged me triple 8 hours later!!

There was nothing done about the hallway running, screaming, partying, loud music, after QUIET HOURS, nothing done about the pool, just completely unacceptable! I’m still trying to figure out how I was checked in at 11pm during a natural disaster for $98.88 and 8 hours later charged ADDITIONAL $433+ to stay another night. Moral of this story- ELAINE at the front desk should be the general manager of this hotel! She is the ONLY employee I saw and witnessed holding policies in place, treating people with respect, and not allowing complete chaos take place in this hotel. The manager did not bother to attempt to correct any of the above. I asked for corporates number but I was not given the information so I have started researching on my own. I hope the owner of this property sees this review, and corrects the illegal price gouging and refund me appropriately! I will be sharing this story on...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I had a recent stay with my family at the Wyndham Garden Cross Lanes in Charleston, WV for a soccer tournament. We had booked our first night at a different location but wanted to move to be with our team. Upon checking in we should have known something was wrong. When checking in the front desk clerk was more then helpful but asked repeatedly if we were sure we wanted to change locations. I also should have recognized that there was an issue when on the check in counter there was a can of Raid to take care of all the bugs. That should have been our first clue that this was not a great choice. When finally getting our room which was well after the guaranteed check in time of 4 pm we understood why. The room was dirty, AC partially operating, food and debris on the floor, bathroom tub/shower dirty from previous guest and more. This room and property was distinguishing. After checking in to our room our kids wanted to use one of the two pools that you have onsite, upon getting there and seeing the condition even my kids who had been outside all day didn't want to swim. The pools were brown and not taken care of, enough for kids not to want to get into them. Our team spent a lot of off time around and when the parents tried sitting in the lobby they were unable to as the temperature of the lobby and hallways was warmer then outside. This should not have been the issue as there were plenty of ACs in the hallways, only one problem they were all broken, with no care to fix or replace them while our stay was happening. We took advantage of breakfast the first morning which was as expected knowing the property but what was disgusting is the staff not wanting to clean up the lobby tables until well after 2 in the afternoon with flies swarming the tables. Our entire team was very disappointed with this property and most of us ended up checking out early and finding other lodging options as this was not a place for kids to be around (enough that us parents wouldn't even allow our kids barefoot in our rooms). I am not sure how this property is even still open and hopefully will undergo some major repairs soon. I am beyond disappointed at the price I paid for this property and you can tell that they increased the price due to the tournament and taking advantage of the situation. I hope that management will see this and if they would like to be provided photos of the property please...

I know posting this isn't gonna make a difference but at least YOU'LL have a heads up when you get here. This place is a DUMP! Wyndham is so worried about putting their name on everything, they don't give a rip about how outdated and dirty this place is. Make sure you understand... Wyndham Gardens is so run down, outdated, and dirty you'll regret staying here.

Our room had the "room clean" sticker on it BUT that was a lie. When my family and I came in, there was still french fries under the desk all over the floor. The house keeper clearly didn't move anything to clean. There was also a large taco bell cup full of someones drink still in the refrigerator.

The Head house keeper isn't doing their job right or they would be going behind the workers and doing a quick sweep of each room to ensure each room was clean properly. Obviously this hotel has a bunch of lazy housekeepers working here. Do Better House Keepers or move along.

The toilet wasn't put in right, so enjoy facing the bath tub. Wyndham stop being a bunch of tight wads, this should have been fixed yrs ago!!!!

We went down to order a pizza to take back to our room... There was a long African American black hair in our cheese.... The thing is, the girl who made our food was a white with dirty blond hair. So how long was that hair sitting in that cheese and how did it get there. We were tired and it was late so I didn't take it back down to complain. We threw it all away.

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!! WATCH THE HOT WATER!!! I can't express this enough. Listen to me, friends, plz. They have the hot water turned up so high; You could actually sterilize baby bottles in it if you needed to. I'M NOT JOKING. Watch yourself and your family.

The breakfast was an absolute NO! The eggs, hash browns, Sausage were all extremely greasy. I don't know about any of the other foods because after trying the basic breakfast and wasting it...I wasn't willing to waste anymore of my own time on that disaster.

I saw in the other reviews where everyone was complaining about the pool... The pool is fine. It's a tad bit to small but there's nothing wrong with it. Go enjoy the only positive thing about this Dump!

Posting negative reviews isn't something I do. I'm completely out of my comfort zone doing this but this review...
