We stayed at this hotel for a weekend for my daughter soccer tournament. We had two rooms to fit my family and had a late check-in due to the drive. When we checked the in my mother-in-law and I stayed in one room with three of my children and my husband stayed in the other room with our son and my nephew. I got my kids settled and got things unpacked and then met my husband in the hallway with stuff for him and my son. We agreed that the room smelled still and we're not as clean as we were used to. I helped him carry things to the room and immediately noticed it was not the room that I had booked. He did not have a separate area with a sleeper sofa. I told him that I would go downstairs and get his room fixed but my nephew was already in the shower and he said that they would make do with what they had. When I got back to my room my daughter had told me that she couldn't get the TV in the sleeper sofa area to work. I looked at it try to few times and then had to call the front desk for help. He tried to walk me through it over the phone but nothing was working. He said he would come up and look at it. When he got up there he said that the TV did not have a box and that he would have to have that fixed the next day and asked me if that was all right. I told him that was fine. The next day we were gone most of the day with soccer when we got back my daughter tried the TV and it was not working again. So I went downstairs and asked the lady at the front desk she told me she wasn't for sure why it was not done that she saw the order from the night before and she would see what she could get done for me quickly. At the same time the owner came out and got very loud and said that it would not be fixed while I was there. He looked at his employee and told her that he had already told her to remove the TV from that room. And she said you did not tell me to do that. He then looked at me and pretty much told me too bad that it would not be fixed during my stay. I told him that this room with the sleeper sofa and the extra TV was one of the main reasons why we've booked this hotel and again he pretty much told me too bad. After dinner that evening my little children wanted to go swimming we noticed that the lights over the pool we're not on so I went to the front desk and ask them if they could try them on and I was told that the lights are on a timer and cannot be turned on until it has the time that the owner has set. I decided to go ahead and take them swimming because I thought there was enough light from the hallway to the windows that line the hallway. After we were in there a little while a lady had come in and turn the lights on. The hot tub with no warmer than the pool I was told that the heater was broken owner had not fixed it yet. The sign on the wall was dirty and torn so my assumption is it had been broken for a while. The AC in neither room got the rooms very cool the whole stay. I book these rooms on reward points which I do very often but that price of the points for this hotel I would compare to other hotels that are four stars it took more points per night per room than I have ever spent on any other hotel with my reward points. the wife I did not...
Read moreI have very mixed feelings about this hotel. The following is both good and bad for my 3 night stay. I'm not familiar with this area, but to me it appears to be what I call "old town" meaning not so great of an area. The outside of this hotel appears to be pretty good, but the inside not so good. It is clean which is a huge plus. This hotel has done some very minor in room remodeling and I mean minor. Bed is very nice and the bedroom tv is also nice. The tv in the sitting area is super small and looks out of place for a fairly large room, but no big deal though. The vending machines are super old, but if you like antiques, then they are nice to look at. The hallways and breakfast room apparently doesn't have air conditioner and you will do some serious sweating while you have warm milk with your cereal. If you are wondering about the hot breakfast, forget it!! They only had 2 hard crusty fried eggs and 1 sausage and not even a plate to eat off of. I did eat the last crusty eggs out of a freaking bowl because a man has to eat you know. A little boy told his mom he wanted eggs but there wasn't any and his mom said to him she's sorry, but there isn't any plates even if there were eggs. The little boy said he wanted apple juice, but there wasn't any in the container. I watched 3 different families come in and immediately leave because of the poor breakfast options. Learn to use stairs because you will need to here because the elevator is horrible. I wonder if the elevator has had it's inspection lately?! I had to tell the front desk that the pot to the coffee maker was missing from my room so I wouldn't be held responsible for it. She appeared to make a note of it, but all I can do is hope for the best. The alarm clock makes a crackling electrical noise like a fire may start at anytime, I unplugged it out of fear just to be safe. The only thing I can say that is really good here is the wifi.
Would I stay here again? Nope, not even if it was free!!! It's very sad because I go out of my way to stay at comfort inn, but this place is just not up to standards. If this place was $39 per night I would still go elsewhere, but $119 for this place is a total joke. I wonder if the franchise actually do inspections.
Long story short.....just pass on...
Read moreWe arrived late at night and the night clerk was very unfriendly and obviously didn't like her job or felt inconvenienced by having to stop visiting with her friend who was sitting in a chair across the lobby in a dark area. She almost used some effort to scan the card to pay for our night's lodging. After two tries, she said that we would have to go up to the gas station and use the ATM. Remember, this was late at night and we were unfamiliar with the area. We were left with no choice but to drive a few blocks to the convenience store/gas station and use the ATM. Luckily, we withdrew extra money, because we were required to make a cash deposit since we weren't paying with a card. Strange thing is that we didn't have a minute's trouble using the card our entire trip at any other place we stopped. The clerk didn't want to give up any proof that we had made a cash deposit, but she did. She also kept my driver's license in the cash deposit envelope. When I lost my cool, the clerk asked if we wanted our money back so that we could spend the night somewhere else. That was a great option for two women and a special needs teen traveling alone late at night in a strange area. She neither directed us to our room or gave us the hours for the breakfast buffet. My daughter had to return to the desk and request my license. The clerk told her that she would have gotten it back the next morning when we picked up our deposit money.
The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The swimming area was good as well. The wifi could be a bit better, but we were able to use our devices. We got to breakfast later, rather than earlier.
No one acknowledged us; the tables had not been cleaned. There was no milk for the cereal and had to show the hostess the milk container before she knew what we were asking for. The orange juice container was also empty. The apple juice, egg and cheese omelets and bacon were good.
As instructed by the night clerk, when we were ready to check out my daughter went to the desk so that either housekeeping or the clerk could check the room for any damage. She was told that we had to vacate the room before it could be checked. When we all loaded up and arrived at the counter, our deposit money was...
