Travelodge by Wyndham Deltona — Hotel in Deltona

My family and I stayed in this motel earlier this year in April for one night. We didn't have a bad experience, but it's not the best motel out there. The stay was OK enough for us to book a 3 night return stay in July to visit family. We check into our room late on the first night after a long day of travel and visiting family. We noticed the floor was dirty, but it was after 10pm so we wanted the soot/dirt off our feet and went to bed. We're out the door the next morning a little after 6am. We tell the front desk that we'd like them to clean the floor and drop off more towels (as we only had 2 towels and washcloths for a family of 3 for 3 nights). We were gone all day with family. We returned to the room around 9pm to find that the floor had not been cleaned and we hadn't been given any additional towels. My fiancée went to the front desk again to ask about it and the clerk at the desk didn't seem too interested in helping. He offered another room which was just as dirty, and then had nothing else to say to my fiancée after she told him that it wasn't acceptable. I then went to the front desk to ask for a clean room or a refund. He offered one more room. It did smell better, but the floor was just as dirty. I told him that it wasn't acceptable and that we'd like a refund and we'd be leaving. I understand the first night might no be refunded because we did stay. But day 2 should be refunded as we asked for 2 simple requests, we were gone all day (about 14.5 hours) and they couldn't complete those requests and then couldn't give us a clean room. We packed our belongings, returned the keys, and I handed the desk clerk a washcloth that I used to wipe the floor that he could save for the manager to show him the filthiness of the room. My sister and I came here with our kids a couple of weeks ago, we was visiting from out of town and we had to get the rooms last minute and there wasn't much to choose from so we stayed here. When we arrived it was around 5:30pm so it wasn't late, we walked into the lobby there was no one there the door to the back behind the check in counter was open and no one was in there, we waited in the lobby for about 10min when finally a lady comes through the front door I wasn't sure if it was a worker because she wasn't dressed like she was and she didn't smile or even acknowledged us. Then she walks behind the counter still doesn't say anything until we say we are checking in. She was also wearing air pods and had someone on the phone because as she's running our credit cards she's talking to a friend on the phone. We reserved 2 rooms 2 queen beds in each and by the time we unpacked the cars and was trying to relax because were exhausted it wasn't until then when we realized it was double beds not queen but we were too tired and didn't feel like having to change rooms. It's hard to see it on the pictures but the bathroom counter was completely cracked on one side and leaning down and I swear if anyone touched on leaned on it that it would of fallen down. In my sister's room the toilet was not bolted to the floor so when you sat on it the toilet it rocked really bad. The floor had not been cleaned in I don't know how long we all wore socks and by the morning the bottom of the socks were black. The beds were ok not as bad as I thought they would be but you could see the stains all over the comforters. The outside of the hotel was very nice looking. It was close to gas stations and a few places to get food. The lady working the night we came in was not helpful at all and provided no customer service at all. When we asked for a room she told us that they had none, they were completely booked up for the night, but when we looked online immediately after talking to her they had plenty. I do understand that sometimes they reserve rooms for online reservations only but I feel that if this was the case here that the desk worker could have suggested it to us as a possibility since it was very late and she saw we were traveling with multiple small children. Once we paid for and arrived in our room it was obvious instantly that it had not been cleaned well, if it had been cleaned at all. There were toothpaste spots on the mirror and dirt all over the floor especially in corners. Paint was either completely peeled off or actively peeling in multiple places around the room and on the doors. There was visible water damage as well as swollen or bubbled up paint in multiple places on the walls and around the ceiling. The bathtub drain did not work right so all bathwater ran out before you could even get in. The back of the bathtub water spout was inches from the wall instead of flush with it. The bathroom door barely opened or closed because the toilet was in the doors pathway. I could go on and on but this sums up some of the biggest issues I saw. Overall it was a very disappointing experience especially for the cost. I didn't expect 5 star luxury but I did at least expect things to be clean and in good repair.
