The reservationist was friendly on the phone and welcoming when I arrived to check-in. She surprised me with good news that she was able to accommodate us in two adjoining rooms. The rooms were clean and well appointed, with air conditioning running and refrigerators cool. Up to that point it was a great experience.
We were on a 22-hour trip with little children in the car for 9+ hours that day, and, rather than drive straight through to our destination, we'd wanted to stay over somewhere for the night, stopping early enough in the day to allow time for the children to have fun in a swimming pool. I'd passed up cheaper places to stay, including one with an outdoor pool, in favor of a Comfort Inn, which, based on my experience, deserves its good reputation. Specifically, and importantly, the Comfort Inn in Dickson, TN, advertised an indoor swimming pool. After settling into our rooms and while an adult was retrieving dinner for our party, the children dressed for the swimming pool and, accompanied by a parent, headed for the swimming pool only to return minutes later to report that the pool was closed for maintenance. According to the front desk attendant, it has been closed for about a year.
This was a big disappointment, not only to the children, but also to me. I had tried to provide my family, a highlighting end to a long day, especially for the children but also for tired adults; however, I was thwarted by bad information on the website. Worse, I paid extra for this disappointment.
While for all other reasons and in all other respects I would recommend this hotel, because the swimming pool was the reason for choosing this hotel, and because this hotel does not have one available, I'd recommend the hotel only if they corrected their website to reflect the fact that the swimming pool is not one of the...
Read moreHousekeeping service unavailable for multiple night stays. Asked for service the 2nd day was told was getting service , hours later a lady come to get my towels late evening and never come back with refresh or to get the trash or even bring bags ! Had to extend an additional night for medical purposes, asked to receive services I would pay extra. Still no service at 3pm. Breakfast was decent, however there is an absolutely not been any time of the day that there has been hot coffee, not even at 5:30 a.m.! Property is fairly clean, the carpets throughout the entire room are very nasty and sticky stained! Definitely needs to be cleaned , overall regardless of it not being an updated property is should certainly use some deep cleaning and particularly to the carpets! The only time I've received good service was from the breakfast attendant , and the only lady that worked the desk the last day of my stay. For the first several nights their were men working with upper management possible franchisee owners or partners , nice enough but obviously not interested in providing guest services or speaking with guests ! Overall, I have certainly managed and worked in choice hotels 12 years and can say with confidence the only areas that should need improvement to make the overall difference is within the management team and in the focus of service, cleanliness, and respect for the...
Read moreIt was a decent place to stay, but there were some challenges. First of all the wi-fi requires that you sign in every time you go back into the room. I did not have very good cell service in the area and needed the wi-fi so this was very frustrating for me You can apparently sign in with a credit card to avoid that - why ??? I tried that and it didnt work - tried 3 credit cards and for each one it said the info was mot accepted. So I had to sign into the Wi-Fi each time I wanted to use my phone. In this day and age that is just not up to par and is a very frustrating experience.
The other challenge is that there is no place to hang towels. There is a knob on the back of the bathroom door, but that was it. With two people in a room taking showers every day that was a challenge. I would suggest putting a towel rack in the bathroom as well. There was room for one in our bathroom.
The other problem is that the air conditioner makes a lot of noise, like a hissing, gurgling sound as if there’s water inside it. That made it hard to sleep.
I did like that the sink area was separate from the toilet /shower. I was staying there with my dad so that made it much easier for us to get ready each day.
I will also say that the staff were super friendly and helpful. That made our stay pleasant. ...
