Studio Inn & Suites at Promenade Downey — Hotel in Downey

To my surprise, I just got kicked out of this place. Not only is that disrespectful to who I am, but the individuals here had their mind set on who I was even before I laid my head on one of their disgusting rooms. Let me begin by saying that check-in was HORRIBLE! I got there after a delayed flight arriving after 2:00am and I had a 40 minute wait happen because the gentleman at the front desk said that the service I used to get my trip (flight+hotel) did not send all of my information to the front desk meanwhile I called 12 hours in advance to verify if my room will be ready for when I get there and a woman by the name of Jessica told me that they were experiencing problems but she will take my number and call me back verifying if the service I used sent her my trips information. I never received a call. The gentleman had me call the service (I also wrote a bad review on their service as well). The gentleman seemed like he did not know what he was doing for the whole 40 minutes I was there. The next thing that boggled my mind was that I signed a waiver explaining that if my immediate party smokes in a non-smoking room I paid for, they will charge me a $250.00 fine. I had no problem signing (I'll get to my point as to why I mentioned this). I get into my non-smoking room and nothing but cigarette smell came out of that room as soon as I opened the door. That was a BIG negative. Two days later, a stranger around the area verbally harasses my girlfriend while I went to go get food for us. He even tried to get into the room. How comfortable is that? I found roaches. The bathtub was backed up since I checked in. Sheets were worn out. Fast forward to today, I get a knock on the door from the supervisor named Mike Shah telling me that he did not want to invade my privacy but asked my permission to step in the room to check the surrounding because he "wanted to install" something in the room at some point. I thought nothing of it so I let him in and he took 2 seconds. I get a call from the front desk 5 minutes later. Mike was on the line telling me that he is kicking me out with no explanation but one, I'm dirty. I told him that I'd go to the front desk and have him explain this to me. I get to the front and we discussed and his reasoning was in 3 different places. He said I was dirty. I had him call his "manager" for the disrespect and he called a gentleman that claimed to be the "owner". He said that Mike Shah is in charge and if he wants to kick me out, he can. I now asked Mike Shah to elaborate what he means by "dirty" and he says that our house keeping complained about the room and he doesn't like how our things is scattered and it's cluttering the room (meanwhile we kept the room the same way we found it. Just a few things of ours out in a clean fashion). He started saying that it's a fire hazard and than he started to assume that we have plans on living in there. I mentioned the roaches and he said that I should have reported it instead of saying nothing and I also mentioned the waiver that had nothing to do with tidiness of the room and said that if he wants to kick me out for "cleanliness", he can. I assured him that he will be receiving this NEGATIVE review and went back to the room and started packing. I guess sometimes paying more is better but I figured I stay cheap for my time in California, wrong move. Seems as though if they feel like they don't want you there, they can kick you out without so much as a thorough explanation. PEOPLE DONT STAY HERE! Mike Shah is a DISRESPECTFUL HUMAN BEING! I am convinced that they had their own personal reasons for kicking me out. This is not a great business at all and I don't recommend this to the public....

Studio Inn And Suites used to be great. Now it is under new management and the office manager is very officious and rude. Because we did not pay 2 weeks of accommodation on checking in at the wrong (quoted) rate, we paid just one night at the wrong higher rate at the time, she told us the next day our whole booking was cancelled and we had to move out. It was a complete lie and when we questioned her decision as we were furious with her stupidity, she called the police on us. The police rolled their eyes at me when they came because they also thought her call was ridiculous and all he could say was 'welcome to California' He too knew this was crazy ++We have stayed here for 8 years and spent $50,000 with this motel and the new office manager threw us out for absolutely no reason. Because she was having a bad day and we had not paid $700 too much the night before !! Absolutely crazy, emotional decision. She did us a favour though. We are now staying in less expensive better accommodation in the area in Air BnBs with no issues of being thrown out because the manager is having a bad day. Nor do we have to put up with ladies of the night using this as a place to take their customers to, nor locals who cannot take their girlfriends home so bring them here and all night next door you put up with the headboard knocking against the wall, keeping you awake. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR...

Called to make a booking. Not only did they get the name wrong but also the email ID, the address as well as the confirmation number they gave us was wrong. We had booked 2 rooms and after calling back about not receiving a confirmation email and correcting the email ID, we received confirmation for only 1 room (the same room) twice. When we called back after waiting a while and mentioned this, we were asked to wait 2 mins longer to receive the email. 10 mins later, still no confirmation. Feeling uneasy about the staff making so many mistakes, we called again, the staff was again making excuses about how they were about to email the confirmation. By this point, we didn't want to deal with this anymore. They seemed to be a very unprofessional staff. We said we want to cancel the reservation and they quickly said ok thank you and hung up the phone and within a few secs we coz a confirmation saying our reservation was cancelled. Perhaps if they had been so quick also send in our confirmation in the first place we would have happy to continue giving them our business and would have also recommended them to...
