Regency Inn & Suites Downey — Hotel in Downey

Unfortunately due to a serious problem with the staff of hotel I am forced to give a very negative review for this hotel, even though the location and comfort were OK. ||1. When I booked a hotel I was information that breakfast is included in the price. When we arrived the hotel staff informed that due to Covid 19 the hotel does not serve the breakfast. This surprised us because the bars and restaurants around are working normally. But Ok. ||Nevertheless why then did they charge us the full price for the stay + breakfast?||2. The second issue is more serious. During check-in they took (in the reception) a deposit of 50$ (without any receipt) from us and informed that it will be returned the next day upon check-out. ||The next day we checked-out early in the morning and the lady on reception informed that she has no 50$ in cash and that they will return us money via the Visa card we had made the payment for the stay. I agreed because I believed that people are keeping their promises. ||Unfortunately to this today (18 days) the hotel has not returned our deposit, without any explanation why. ||I sent 3 emails (via Booking.com) to the hotel asking them to clarify the situation but I did not receive any answer! They just ignore us. ||I have been booking hotels via Booking.com for many years and such a situation never happened before at any other hotel in the world. ||I decided to cancel my next stay at this hotel (already booked) because of this situation. ||All of this is the reason why I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you decide to stay in it ask a refund of your deposit immediately...

... want all the luxury and amenities offered at such esteemed establishments as The Ritz-Carlton? Put your money where your mouth is and book a room there! We recently stayed at The Regency for four days. The Regency is a perfectly decent, comfortable and reasonably priced hotel, conveniently located on Imperial Highway in Downey- NOT Beverly Hills. An adjacent "liquor" store can provide basically anything one would need to survive- especially smokers and drinkers. The rooms are LARGE and (yes) quite dated- but PERFECTLY fine. (Only fault was the deodorizer sprayed on carpet as many have commented... I'd also advise to keep shoes on at all times inside room. ) Towels, pillows, sheets and beds are clean, decent and adequate- I was surprised to even see soap and shampoo in bathroom. The hotel seems to be run by no-nonsense Indians whom provide a basic morning set-up such as coffee, juice, toast, etc. (If you need a full breakfast- walk to Stox.) The cleaning staff is excellent and keep the rooms quite tidy. I asked for extra pillows and blankets with no problems. Yes, the hotel is on a busy road, the pool is small, the internet is slow, etc. If you need more than this hotel can provide- pay for it. My wife and I have been here for almost two months now ONLY because our hunt for an apartment has gone TERRIBLE and we cannot find one in our price range. Anyway, EVERYDAY for the last two months they have been remodeling the rooms around us The room's on BOTH sides of us and directly below us) from 7:30 a.m until 5p.m they are POUNDING on our walls, Drilling stuff into the walls, and sawing stuff, it is insanely LOUD in our room all day long and I work graveyard so during the day I like to sleep but it is almost IMPOSSIBLE. The management is the WORST I've EVER come across.. They are charging us the FULL amount of rent each week whichis $300 per week! They haven't offered to give us ANY discount for our inconvenience NOR have they offered to move us to one of the 35 vacant rooms... We've brought this to there attention and they literally got mad about it? Annnnnd still haven't done anything about it, so now I'm trying to get in contact with whoever owns this place too make them aware of what has been going on for far to long now... It's unfortunate that we can't speak with the manager about it because we fear they will kick us out then we will really be in a bind...
