We checked in for a Fri and Sat night stay in Willie Mae's Cottage at a rate of $135 + tax and lodging fee. The cabin was delightful however the 2 nights we stayed were absolutely awful. The rental house on the east side of the property had people that partied both nights from 11 pm until 4 am. When I informed the inn keepers of these problems, they were completely indifferent. Their reaction was that we should have said something while still in the cabin rather than after we left, however, they were out of town at the time and couldn't have done anything. I asked for a refund and was told that because I had said it was a nice cabin when we checked in and also because we didn't complain to them in the middle of the night, that we would not be reimbursed. We had hoped for at least a complimentary stay at another time or some of our money refunded since we did not get a good night's sleep either night. We believe that these innkeepers are the type that blame the victim rather than look inward and see what could have been done to make our stay more pleasant. We had the reasonable expectation of 2 peaceful nights' sleep and didn't come close to getting that. We did our part of what they expected, which was to pay them half by check before the stay and the remainder also by check at the end of our stay. Being thoughtful and trustworthy people we did pay the remainder even though we never got what was promised in the correspondence. We won't be staying here again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else looking for a B and B in Dripping Springs. There are many other establishments that are not located near all night party houses, unfortunately, this one doesn't fall into...
Read moreWe stayed in Clara's house. Like sleeping in history, with modern creature comforts. Shower and toilet works great, towels and wash rags provided. Double sinks in bathroom. Full kitchen, refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave. A fresh muffin loaf was delivered every day, plus dirty towel laundry and trash was taken out daily. Comfortable couch with tv, a dining room also. Bed we slept on was good. There is also another bedroom. Ceiling fans in bedrooms with GOOD AC that kept the house nice and cool. The property has shade trees with a picnic area. Ample parking for two vehicles. It's maybe a two minute walk to all the shops and boutiques in town. Also the area visitors information bureau is right across the street Only a few issues we had which will not steer me away from my rating: The doorway headers in the house are low, remember this house is WAY over a 100 years old, predominantly shorter folks back then. I'm 6'3", I had to pay attention when walking from room to room. Tall folks, eyes front! Lol A couple of nights during our stay, a bar that is basically one house over decided to launch fireworks starting at 10:30pm, this went on intermittently until almost 1:30am. Our stay dates were well past the 4th of July so I don't know what the occasion was for. Road noise. A main highway in and out of Austin is maybe only a blocks' distance from the house. The noise can be considerable throughout the day, tapers off at night. Overall, if in the area, we would most likely stay at this...
Read moreMy hubs and I stayed here Friday Jan 12 2018 for my husbands 29th birthday. Our stay was awesome. We loved the room. It was quaint and cozy. The history behind the room was so interesting and made it even better. The owners are the sweetest people. I love that they have such a laid back process where you leave a check when you leave your room to pay. So easy and straight forward. We spent the evening watching one of our favorite bands play in down town dripping springs and it was just a short walk for us to get there. Lastly, we enjoyed that she had the most delicious banana bread loaf there waiting for us when we arrived. It was all around just a great experience and we plan to come back as often as we go to dripping...
